Kinnaird Holiday Apartment Description

Located next door to the owner’s home, this split-level, self-contained apartment has been thoughtfully planned and beautifully appointed to create a truly lovely holiday home. The ground floor living accommodation immediately welcomes you with its comfortable furnishings and warm décor, enhanced by the views over the Llangollen canal and surrounding countryside, which can be enjoyed from the floor to ceiling window in the lounge area. Its open plan layout maintains the feeling of spaciousness and there is plenty of room for relaxing. It’s the perfect place to just sit and watch the world go by. Remember to look out for the horse drawn barges that pass along the canal!
Steps from the living area lead down to the bedroom which is lovely and bright thanks to the windows which run across one entire wall, giving 180 degree views over the garden and Llangollen beyond. The bedroom has a separate dressing area and a contemporary shower room which is very spacious. There are patio doors from the bedroom leading onto a private decked patio which is the ideal place for enjoying your morning coffee or dining on a warm summer’s evening. As well as the great facilities that are already provided, the property also benefits from a hairdryer, an iron, ironing board and a delightful welcome basket with local produce.
Although Kinnaird occupies a peaceful location, it is just a short walk into the centre of Llangollen with all of the towns amenities such as bars, pubs, shops and restaurants right on your doorstep. There are also gardens with a bandstand, tennis courts, bowling green, ducks and a children’s play area. There are many cultural events held in Llangollen throughout the year including theatre productions, festivals, cabaret and concerts. In July Llangollen hosts the annual International Musical Eisteddfod which brings in over 12, 000 visitors. Llangollen is a walker’s paradise with many pleasant walks in and around the town including walks along the canal, Horseshoe Falls and Offa’s Dyke. The stunning Horseshoe Pass is just half a mile from the property.
Part of a World Heritage Site, Llangollen is located on the River Dee and dates back to the 7th Century. There are several interesting and historic buildings in and around Llangollen including Crow Castle (Castell Dinas Bran), the 13th Century Valle Crucis Abbey and Plas Newydd. Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which carries the canal over the River Dee, is also worth visiting.
Other activities available locally include fishing and golf. For the more adventurous there are several companies that organise outdoor activities such as kayaking and canoeing.
Whilst Llangollen has a lot to offer it is also well placed for visiting lots of other places too and makes a great base for a touring holiday. The National Trust has several properties within a short drive including Chirk Castle, seven miles and Erdigg, 10 miles. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include Ruthin, 16 miles, Snowdonia, 32 miles, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the Great Orme, 46 miles. Cross the border into England, it’s just 24 miles to Chester and around an hour’s drive to Liverpool.

Plas Newydd, Llangollen, is a beautiful historic house, and was the home of the Ladies of Llangollen, Lady Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby, for around 50 years. It is set in wonderfully maintained grounds and was featured on TV's Most Haunted.
