An inspirational young man who shows that people with additional needs can achieve truly amazing things.
Horrified that people who should be supporting and caring for vulnerable adults could treat them in this way. A distressing watch.
We are very happy to support this fabulous local event š
Iām really astounded by the lack of support for people under 25 with the universal credit benefits system. Your average young person will receive Ā£120 a week. When they are fortunate enough to secure work this reduces by 67p for every pound they earn. However this isnāt accounted for until the month after the earning which makes budgeting extremely difficult. Especially given the low hour contracts offered by many employers. Not every young person is lucky enough to have a family support network. Many of them are doing their absolute best to make their way in life. How is anyone expected to live on this?
Watching Stacey Dooley āThe Young and homelessā. Itās a sad reality that this happens across the country every day. As a local housing provider we are pleased to help Supporting People deliver greatly needed supported living for a variety of service users including young people.
Here is some of what we did with our new development to ensure itās now at an amazing standard for our clients
After ten months of very hard work our latest project is nearly ready for its new tenants. This renovation will be rented to those tenants who we have worked with in supported accommodation and are now ready for Independant living. We are extremely proud to provide excellent standard accommodation for our clients. #beforeandafter
Sounds like a very sensible plan for those with vulnerabilities.
What kind of people is a supporting people project open to?
The great thing about supporting people is that it is bespoke to the service user.
We support people who have a variety of needs including:
... ā¢ who are at risk of homelessness or getting over a period of homelessness ā¢ people fleeing domestic violence ā¢ people with mental health needs ā¢ people with substance misuse issues ā¢ people with learning disabilities ā¢ a significant proportion of the people supported are older people.
