Here at Lanelay Hall, a cat has appeared. He/she first arrived about 2 months ago and has been a regular visitor to the Hall ever since. As we are a hotel, we are unable to keep he/she, which is a shame as they are loved by all the staff members. The weather is now beginning to turn and we have started to become concerned for their welfare (we don't want them being stuck outside in the cold), so we are putting out an appeal. Does this cat belong to anyone in the local area? If not, is anyone able to give this gorgeous cat a loving home over the winter months and beyond?

We had my mums 60 th birthday here 23 June

And just wanted to say what a fab place lanelay hall is. We had afternoon tea which was fab the room set up was lovely and to have the rooms and garden was fabulous

Thank you to the staff also who were brilliant will defo come back xx

Today 34 of my family & friends including children had a wonderful time from start to finish! To cater for 34 people two and three courses, that were very very nice is a difficult to do. Each one of us had a lovely time making memories. The children loved it and they were made to feel like they were at home along with the rest of us. To be able to relax and social in the garden was beautiful. Thank you to all the staff who worked today and Gemma. Probably see you all again after the wedding.

Only stayed one night which was a shame for us at it was an excellent experience, it’s a beautiful building and the service from everyone we came into contact with with absolutely superb.



We will defiantly stay again and will recommend it to anyone who want to stay in and around this part of Wales.

Lovely two course lunch as part of a group of six today, we started with drinks in the garden followed by wonderful meal in lovely surroundings, everyone enjoyed their meals and we all agreed we love to come back knowing someone else who'd enjoy it. The hotel is so beautiful, we had a good nose downstairs (can't comment on upstairs) and from what we experienced I'd love to stay at some point in the future and will definitely be coming back for afternoon tea at some point.

Just want to say a big thank you to all staff at Lanely Hall, the hotel was superb, the surroundings and outside gardens were georgeous, the food in the evening and the breakfast was out of this world, we had one vegan option which was excellent , the beds were so comfortable and we didn’t hear a sound all night. The only thing I can say is in booking the reservation was with a spa and jacuzzi and this was not available , which was very disappointing for myself as I booked this as a birthday treat for a friend and as there were no facilities on site we had to venture into Cowbridge for the evening.

I recently booked Lanelay Hall for a 2 day work event and cant praise them highly enough. Everything was really well organized, with the sectioned off meeting rooms allowing us to have a great space for breakout sessions, without disturbing other guests.



Coffee, tea and water on tap, but the show-stopper was the food. Normally at work functions you would expect a sandwich lunch and typical buffet food, but we had a great choice of hot and cold food on both days, including veg curry, poached salmon, chicken with freshly prepared salads, coleslaws and delicious desserts.



My only regret was that I wasn't booked in to stay overnight as it's only 20mins from home, but I will definitely be visiting again very soon! Keep up the great work �

I have only been here for drinks in the garden twice so can’t review the rooms or food but the service both times has been fantastic. The building is absolutely beautiful, it’s been done to a very high standard. The bar has so much choice. Tonight I went just for a glass of wine with a friend. The barman was fantastic, I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc and he gave me two to try which was nice before choosing. A large glass was around £9.50 which was pricey but it was a gorgeous glass of wine. We chatted about the gin selection, he was very knowledgeable. We sat outside and had a lovely evening. All of the staff that we came across were enthusiastic and friendly. Even though I only live down the road I will book dinner and a night here very soon, and will return for drinks again very soon.

I have had two very famous Boxers down to South Wales and Dave put them up in lanley hall ..

And the other Roburto Duran , Roy done a ten part tour around uk and said Lanley hall was the nicest hotel

His wife and son absolutely loved the place and can’t wait to come back ..... Weldon Dave , the place is tremendous , foods outstanding and looking forward too bringing them next star down , and holding a couple events here ..... thanks Dave and the staff for looking after us �

Have just come back from a lovely weekend at Lanelay Hall. Was impressed from the start such a lovely building, great food, comfortable beds and very welcoming and friendly staff. We were so impressed we ended up staying another night. Thank You for the lift to the Rolling Stones concert. We will definitely be returning

Had afternoon tea here for the first time today and I am over the moon with the entire experience. Delicious selection of sandwhiches and desserts. Excellent service and beautiful surrounds. We never felt rushed and stayed much longer than anticipated because it was so relaxed. Enjoyed drinks in the lounge afterwards which was exquisite in both service and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return with family and friends!

Every time I’ve been here the staff have been outstanding. Very welcoming, superbly attentive service to go alongside the fantastic food and drinks. The venue is stunning, inside and out, the modern decoration compliments the historical building and setting. Excellent choice of high end dishes available on the various menus. Aside from the main menu, the vegetarian options available are some of the best around. I can’t wait to come down again, if I lived further afield (I only live 10 mins away) I’d love to spend a weekend here!

Came for lunch today, well what more could you ask for! The sun was shining, a Royal wedding and a great effort by Lanelay Hall for celebrating the event. This was my first visit and I have to say it won't be my last. Fabulous food, complimentary glass of Prosecco, great service and the hall itself has been designed and presented with such a wow factor. After lunch we were able to make the most of the outside space for coffee due to the sun shining. Will definitely be returning for food and next time will try the accomodation aspect. This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend you visit . Thankyou Lanelay Hall X

Amazing, stayed here for my hen party last weekend and it was amazing, the staff were fab especially; Guy, Liz and Sophie couldn’t have asked for better service and they couldn’t have done more for us. They made sure we had the back courtyard to ourselves which just made it perfect �. The rooms were lovely and the food was outstanding if I could give a higher rating I would. Thank you soo much � and I will definitely be coming back �

After reading quite a few reviews saying the service was not great, we were a bit wary about our Sunday Lunch booking for a birthday but...... it was absolutely fantastic!!!

The food was delicious and a fab choice for the children (who don’t always want a Sunday lunch), service was amazing too. I would highly recommend to anyone. 5 stars from us!

1st visit to Lanelay Hall yesterday for our 10th wedding anniversary, and I must say, very impressed! The staff were a delight, the meal was wonderful and the place was amazing. Will definitely return or as Arnie would say 'We'll be back' haha.

A delicious afternoon tea and an absolutely beautiful hotel but access for a wheelchair user was very poor, struggled to get over the gravel car park and then trying to get through the entrance was awful, no ramp, and trying to get through the doorway whilst trying to hold the door open and get over the lip was an awful experience, thankfully someone came to our aid but not a member of staff I’m sad to say! I thought wheelchair access availability was standard these days?

Had afternoon tea, prior to booking - asked if it was wheelchair friendly, was told yes no problem at all. Well upon arrival two guests had to help me in with the wheel chair. Food was ok but I’ve had better from other local locations. It’s fair to say this is not disabled friendly at all with gravel car park and several obstacles to get in main building. Also no disabled toilets (well we weren’t shown any)....

A fantastic venue and lovely staff but I was disappointed with the new lunch menu as it was different to the one online. Struggled to pick a main, had pork and leek sausages but was looking forward to a sirloin steak which was no longer on the menu, the sausages came with the same onion garnish that was with the pate I chose for stater

Unfortunately we had an awful sunday lunch there on 25th March. We complained on the day but the service nor the quality of food improved by the second course. We didn't stay for the third as we were so disappointed. Food was delayed, cold, tasteless, the beef was chewy and could only eat half of it.



They did knock 20% off the bill but that wasn't compensation really as we were celebrating a few birthdays and this experience really was awful.

I've written 3 times to Lanelay with additional feedback, I'm now waiting for the new management team to respond to my email from over a week ago.

I've avoided writing a poor review to give them a chance to respond, but they haven't.

Beautiful place but that alone will not create a successful business. I hope they improve the service and food, and that the owner is reading these reviews to improve his/her business.
