The making of a Lavvu... a new canvas for the upcoming season. We make all the structures here at Larkhill and the canvases are made using a steadfast 1957 Industrial Singer Sewing machine and patience...lots and lots of patience!

New Year Visit We had a fantastic stay in one of the yurts over the New Year. The yurt was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed, and it was fantastic and warm thanks to the log burner, which was perfect after long walks! Everyone at the site was very welcoming and ensured we had a brilliant stay, and even helped us to organise massages in our yurt, which... were also brilliant! We would highly recommend the yurt to anyone wishing to explore Wales.

These funny looking things are still giving us eggs for our breakfast during the winter months. We've got a few different breeds of chickens but these Silkies are definitely the fluffiest!

The recent mild weather seems to have brought out the Lili Wen Fach (Snowdrops). We usually see them much later in the year but some have bloomed early.

New Glamping Accommodation Summer 2019! We are super excited to share with you our new creation! Available from this summer onwards and especially designed for our Fairy/Elf followers (or any guest under a few inches tall)! Bedding can be supplied at request but due to the flammable nature of the accommodation we will not be supplying firewood 😉. More photos of our new Fairy Village will be put up on its completion 😁

We were trying to remember how old our "Hand of John" carving is the other day, we think it was created seven or eight years ago. It's still one of our favourites though and there is even a homage to it on the Totem Pole created last year. We have named it the "Hand of John" because... well it was created by the hands of John! We remember well, from when our children were young, how unfair it seemed for holiday accommodation to sky rocket in price during the children's school holidays... which is why we don't want any part of it! We have the same prices all year around! This does mean that school holidays tend to be the first dates to book up. Wow what a place, Fran and Tony are genuine fantastic people. Made us so welcome, New Year's Eve party is one I will never forget, great laughs from the moment the fire was lite. Will be back.... love this place!

We've been camping many times and we love the outside but I can honestly say this was the best place we have ever stayed at.



Everything was perfect (apart from the weather). Fran and Tony were fabulous hosts and their attention to detail is astounding. From the detailed map on how to get there, to the wet weather board everything was organised perfectly.



The walks through the forest were fantastic and our little boy loved spotting all the statues and carvings. The views from the fields were breathtaking and the whole place was just so tranquil. Just what we needed to refresh ourselves.



The yurt itself was very comfortable, my little boy is scared of the dark so the added bonus of solar paneled led lights around the roof of the yurt was very welcomed. Everything you could possible need is supplied. All you need to take is food for your camp fire, sleeping bags and towels.



On a final note, if you do go there you must try the fresh eggs for breakfast and take home a delicious jar of honey. Seriously its amazing!

We visited our sons who were staying. Totally amazing place. Made very welcome by Fran.

Our grandchildren loved it, playing hide and seek and just enjoying the whole experience with their parents.

Wanted a break from our busy lives...time to spend some quality time as a family..came across Larkhill Tipi's just by chance. We had an absolutely amazing time together. From the history that we could read in the information pack to the lush green surroundings, the beautiful birdsong, the helpful and welcoming manner in which Fran and Tony received everyone we could see for ourselves the thought that went into every single detail in this gem of a place. If you love nature and know to appreciate the hard work and love that has been poured into this place...this is just for you...cant wait to go back. Just returned from a weekend break in the Alachigh with our three children. A wonderful time was had by all! Thank you so much!

Just in the car on the way home from a magical week here. Larkhill is the place to forget all your worries, light a fire, drink wine with good friends and wake to the sound of birdsong. Bliss absolute bliss. Fran and Tony you have made a lite piece if heaven just outside Carmarthen! See you again soon!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Tony and Fran were incredible hosts & even the Indian Turkeys warmed to us by day 2! (Restored our faith in humanity a little!) We weren't checked up upon which was refreshing- we were really left to it in the Bentwood Yurt where the setting was perfect! Solar lighting, roaring fire, gas stove for pots of tea & a coupla eggs! Us 3 girls had a blast away from the city, cooking cawl in the log cabin- even in the rain we were secure & cosy! We will definitely be back- so much so we're making it an annual occurrence! :) Cheers!

Absolutely loved our four night stay at Larkhill in the Mongolian Ger. My wife totally embraced the whole ‘back to nature’ thing and insisted on creating and cooking on an open fire each evening (despite provision of more traditional cooking means). Really comfortable beds. Very warm accommodation and just a totally relaxed and chilled ambience. Really looking forward to spending New Year there, sat around the communal camp fire drinking and making new friends.

Absolutely gorgeous place Fran and Tony are lovely host's just got back home yesterday and already thinking to book again for end of August.
