Sisters Sandra and Karen love to sew. Saunter into their shop in Severn Street, Welshpool, and you can see them sitting in a back room at their sewing machines using vintage fabric to turn out the delightful handbags, travel bags, aprons and cushions, as well as individual items of home -and giftware that adorn the shelves at the front.
They also carry out alterations and repairs to clothes, curtains, blinds and so on. . . . . . . . .
Lilly Mo is, as much as anything an oasis of calm, a step back in time. There is an air of gentle civility behind its front door. Sometimes, amid the fuss and fume of the 21st century, it's just what you need.
