Llanafan Fawr And Llanwrthwl Community Broadband Scheme Description
A community-led scheme to bring ultrafast broadband to our two communities.
This all started in 2018 at an open meeting in Llanafan to see how we could improve the poor or non-existent broadband in the area.
The first attempt based on microwave technology failed due to our hilly terrain and limited funding. 2 years later we’re trying again with different technology, a bigger target area and the chance of significantly more grant funding available for Community schemes.
The project is being run by a few interested local residents, representatives from our local Community Councils, our County Councillor and supported by Powys CC. The voluntary project group is open and informal so do contact us if you’d like to get involved.
Nobody on the group has any business or personal connection with DyfedSuperfast.
Our shared objective is simply to make an affordable, fast and reliable internet connection available to everyone in our Community.
