Llandovery Fire Station
Llandovery Fire & Rescue Station Description
Llandovery Fire Station’s community area has an approximate population of 6, 000; much of this is made up of outlying rural areas including farms and villages including the communities of Llangadog, Llanwrda, Rhandirmwyn, Cilycwm and Crugybar.
The fire station is crewed by retained (on call) firefighters. Their Rescue Pump type Fire Appliance has the capability of dealing with all types of incidents which can present themselves.
The main risks for Llandovery and its surrounding communities are the busy, main A40 trunk road which links West Wales with the Midlands and a large mixture of Country & B roads. Other significant risks include farming and associated agricultural industries and the rivers which surround the area can be susceptible to flooding on occasions.
