H and I turned up to catch the 09.45 to Chester. We put a couple of quid in the parking meter - and nothing! We zoomed off into town, found another car park and made it to the train on time.
The station is quite large. The building is light, clean and spacious. The young lady who sold us our tickets was well-presented but, unfortunately, had not learned how to smile.
A nice, efficient station but watch our for their car park. I still haven't got my money back!
The ticket office closes really early, about 3pm. This also means that the toilets on the platform get closed
Its disappointing how often the ticket office is unmanned.
It's had a lot of money spent on it so it's a shame that the glass cubicle that is now the main entrance, exit and ticket office closes so early in the day. You end up having to go round the side to get in. Facilities are good but modern seating and bike racks are out of sync with the historic feel.
Can this station connect with Liverpool line street and can the trains to Chester go a bit faster
The station could be better.not much happens here.
