The team is made up of 12 volunteers that carry out coastal searches or water and cliff rescues between Aberthaw power station and Ogmore By Sea.

Team paged to assist police with multiagency incident near Southerndown.

Last nights practice session was spent going over the equipment contained in the casualty care bag and how to use them. The session ended with the teams racing against each other to find items of equipment from the kits and put them back correctly. As you can see some were a bit more competitive than others.

Some down time for the team this weekend with a team social night before it starts to gets busy for us during the summer months.

Incident 22/2019:- 02/06/2019
Team paged in the early hours of the morning to assist Barry CRT with a missing persons search at Pebble Beach, Barry. Three search teams deployed in the area, with no persons found to be in difficulties.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Incident 21/2019:- 30/05/2019
Team paged late last night to reports of an unconscious casualty near to Llantwit Major Surf Lifesaving Club. Following a hasty search the casualty was located at Dimhole. Casualty care given by team before extracting the casualty along the cliff path to Llantwit Beach.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

We had wind, rain and sun this week at our practice session. We returned to Nash point to look over the debrief points from last weeks exercise.

Incident 20/2019:- 27/05/2019
Team tasked to reports of ordnance on Monknash beach. Team maintained cordon whilst RLCs EOD investigates the object. Item deemed harmless and was removed to avoid future calls.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Last night the team were out with Barry CRT on a training exercise set up by our area SCOOs. Teams started hasty search of area around Nash Point resulting in a casualty being located on the cliffs. Casualty was then stabilised and recovered with the use of our rope rescue equipment.

Incident 19/2019:- 20/05/2019
Team pages to persons believed to be cut off by tide between St Donats Bay and Tresillisn Bay. Area searched by team and Porthcawl RNLI Lifeboat with no person found to be in difficulty.

Incident 18/2019:- 18/05/2019
Team tasked to Llantwit Beach for a sailing vessel aground. Team assisted crew of vessel ashore before Porthcawl RNLI Lifeboat took the vessel under tow.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Team training this week was at St Donats where the team practiced using holdfasts and natural anchors.

Incident 17/2019:- 11/05/2019
Team paged with Barry CRT to report of a dog over the cliffs near Southerndown. As the teams set up our rope rescue equipment, the dog made its way back up unharmed.
