Fantastic views. Lots of space. Quiet. Good facilities.
Me and 4 lads turned up quite late the night before we planned on walking Snowdon and were given the "don't make loads of noise" lecture. We got a fire pit easy enough and bought some firewood. Stayed up till about 11 without anybody bothering us. (we didn't act daft or get out of hand though).
It's 2 mile from the car park at the start of the Watkins path.

Lovely location and nice facilities . However we visited for the first time this weekend just gone, and the place was full to the brim particularly with families and groups, not what we were hoping for.

We are a couple and all we wanted was a quiet corner to camp. We ended up camping in tree originally sparse 'group' camping area, because it seemed the quietest. However inevitably big groups of teenagers moved in and kept us up most of the night. Considering there is suppose to be a low noise tolerance policy, no wardens came over at all to tell groups to keep it down, over 2 days!

Possibly the worst campsite we have ever been to fantastic location but squashed in with what felt like millions of tents, it felt like a refugee camp noise from drunks until 4 am even though staff did do their best to keep the noise down. Not enough toilets, cars everywhere, such a shame to spoil what could be a beautiful site left a day early couldn't cope with another night. Even during the day so noisy because of all the people never relaxed once. Dogs everywhere full of really rough people. Staff nice and friendly and nice spot but that's the only thing good I have to say about it. Have never ever complained about a site before we were two families who left early, extremely disappointing bank holiday weekend had lovely days out but just dreaded returning to that horrible site, 100% will not be returning :(

Been coming to Llyn Gwynant to camp for 20yrs. Went there to see my daughter, got charged £5,, never seen so many tents squashed together. No space for the kids to play. The empty spaces was soaking, I'm sure if that was dry there would have been a tent there as well .Our once amazing ,peaceful campsite seems to have turned into a money making project. Tent on tent, cars parked everywhere, no room for the kids to play.
Very sad to see.

First Hike up Snowdon!!
We arrived at 1130pm at night and were welcomed by smiling campsite staff. We were able to pitch our tent outside the official camp for the night then moved into main site in the morning. Very secure. There are great facilities good toilets and showers. My shower( white ones) was hot my partners was not??

There are water taps all over the place. It is quite a quiet area and very tidy campsite. There is a pizza van for the evenings which is very popular and a breakfast stall for the mornings, good coffee hot chocolate and bacon sandwiches.

All in all a great site and very accessible to the mountain! A great stay.

Horrific time. I went with my daughter who is 13. Two groups kept us awake until 12.30 in the morning. No wardens come round to sort it out so it was up to me to ask people to be quiet which is stressful and the opposite of relaxing. Be wary if you want to get sleep about coming to this campsite.

Great location at the base of mt Snowdon, friendly staff and good facilities. Campfires are allowed with wood sales onsite for £5 a bag which is great. You can choose your camp area (depending on how early you get there) camps can be next to a stream, looking over the lake or just tucked away in a field. Beddgelert is a 5 minute drive away with a few pubs, however alcohol and food can be purchased onsite. Snowdon car park is around 1h 30mins (4miles ish) walk direct from the site,.you might want to drive there however parking up there can be an issue. To conclude, I would say this site is great for all and is definitely worth a visit!

Great location for exploring Snowdonia. Beautiful layout. Friendly staff, fires allowed (wood for sale on location), clean, lots of space.

Do bring a windbreaker though :-)

Good campsite. Has showers, clean toilets and shop that sells the basics. There's a pizza stall for the evenings and a coffee stall for the morning. Great location and offers canoe/kayak hire for the lake.
