Llyn Rhys Campsite is run by Christine and Louis Hughes on our family farm, near to the centre of Llandegla. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the campsite is conveniently situated alongside the A5104, two minutes from Llandegla Forest Mountain Bike Centre and also five minutes from the picturesque Horseshoe Pass.
We offer high quality showers, toilets and washroom facilities. We allow camp fires using our braziers, which are for hire, and sell logs and kindling.
An ideal base for walks of varying difficulties, we have the Clwydian Way and Offa's Dyke path passing through our land. We can help you plan your walk.
The campsite is family-based, where we like the noise to be kept low after 10 pm and silence after midnight. This is to consider the families with small children and also the walkers and bikers who need their sleep after a gruelling day of exercise.
There is a choice of 2 flat fields or a lawned area. There is also hard standing for caravans and cars should the grassed areas be too wet. There are three restaurants, offering an excellent welcome and good food within walking distance. The village shop is half a mile away in the centre of the village.
The village has lots to offer and Llangollen, a 10 minute drive, has many outdoor adventure activities including white water rafting, gorge walking, canoeing and climbing.
Our local historic towns, Ruthin, Wrexham, Mold are all within a 10 mile radius. Bala and Chester are 20 miles away and you can reach the coast and Snowdonia within 45 mins.

We are conveniently located for Oneplanet Adventure, Coed Llandegla and Offa's Dyke path runs through the fields by the campsite. We are also near to Llangollen, Ruthin and Wrexham. What do you like to do and where do you like to go when you visit us?
Lovely to welcome Castell Alun pupils, staff and Mike Griffiths back again this year. A brilliant group and a real credit to the school.
We had a family day out today to see some of the grandchildren competing at the Eisteddfod in Llangollen. Such a lovely day with competitors from all over the world. A 2nd place in one competition was a fantastic end to the day; ardderchog Ysgol Pen Barras!

We are looking forward to the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, a busy week of activities ahead. We still have spaces if you are looking for camping.

You can just about make out these amazing young people who are doing their Duke of Edinburgh expedition. They have trekked through the rain on this grotty day and should be applauded for their spirit and determination!! Hot showers at the ready 😃

Fantastic opening of Llandegla Community Shop & Cafe today. The shop is open 7 days a week, stocks all the essentials & is walking distance from the campsite.
