Llyn Y Fan Fach Car Park

Great launch point for the walks around the lake or up the fan itself. Access to the parking garage area is along typically narrow muddy lanes that require caution at every turn.

Absolutely stunning walk with beautiful views across many miles. An intermediate walk if you are a regular walker. The walk to the lake can be undertaken in an hour or so and would suit most people. Highly recommended.

A truly fantastic walk. Not challenging, good for all abilities. First section up to the lake is straightforward with good terrain (farm track). If you are up for more of a challenge then you can head up onto the ridge and around above the lake.
If time allows you can head down and up again to the ridge above Llyn y fan fawr, a nice view, but in my opinion worth seeing from above, little point going down the the second lake.

I took my family for a walk up to Llyn-y-fan fach, having been here so many times when I was younger, I wanted to show my son how different the climate can be in mountain area`s. This area is great for landscape photography and also for taking the beautiful countryside scenery. I would recomend this area for a day out to anyone. Make sure you prepare yourself by taking everything you need to walk in the mountains. The weather can change very quickly and you can get lost very easy if the clouds roll in or mist covers the mountain. Always be prepaired!
