Beechwood College is an energetic, innovative and inspirational specialist Education, Residential care and Vocation service, which supports young people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated complex needs, including behaviours that challenge.
Beechwood College prides itself on offering meaningful packages of lifelong education, vocation and residential care to those who have in the past struggled to access conventional mainstream services; offering each young person individually tailored and holistic programmes of support; equipping them to face the challenges of later life.
The College has undergone a number of successful CIW and Estyn inspections and as a college we continue to build upon prior success as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for young people but need your support to ensure that we are the ‘best’ at what we do!
As a Support Worker at Beechwood College, you will be required to provide residential, educational and therapeutic support to all students, enabling them to gain greater independence and confidence. Whilst this role will predominantly require you to support our students within their residential setting, you will also be actively involved across all areas of the College including working alongside the lecturers within classrooms, clinical services staff and the wider community.

Service users of all skill levels have been enjoying paint pouring as part of Heatherwood Court's in-house Recovery College and attend on a regular basis. They are now working on a large piece as a group. #mentalhealth #MentalHealthAwareness http://ow.ly/DxiO50ya5hc

We were very proud of our Psychology Team who were asked to showcase a poster on ‘Evaluating the impact of Team Formulation on Direct Care for individuals with LD: A PBS-informed approach’ at last week's Division of Clinical Psychology Annual Conference. #dcpconf

Can we ask everyone that works for us or feels passionately about supporting the homeless, many of whom have mental health issues, sign and share this petition by south Wales charity, Adref, who are threatened with closure. http://ow.ly/dvGS50y7Pwv
We have been associated with Adref for many years, and a number of our service users have volunteered in their charity shops or their office as part of their recovery journey. Our service users have experienced first hand the amazing work this charity does and are keen that as many people as possible support this campaign.
Read the letter one of our service users has sent to Boris Johnson.

The service users at our Windsor Road home are really looking forward to their new Manager, James, starting his role and being able to get to know him. To celebrate they made a banner to welcome him into the home.

One of our community home residents recently graduated with an MA in Illustration from @cardiffmet. Massive well done. Next step in her rehabilitation plan is to use the qualification to achieve her next goal; finding full-time work in the field of art or graphic designs. #mentalhealth

One of our community home residents performed with a theatre group recently. This is what he had to wrote about his experience and how it has contributed to his recovery and rehabilitation:
"So if someone had told me you’re going to be on stage in a play in a year I would have freaked and not believed it. However a year later and I’ve done it !
I came out of hospital a year ago and have just finished final performances in Wind in the Willows play.
... I joined Caerphilly Players Amateur Dramatics 6 months ago and it was the best thing ever. I was extremely nervous but I got used to it and auditioned and got a part. I played Dobbin the faithful companion of Toad.
I never thought I would be doing something like this it really just shows how people CAN get better." #mentalhealth #mentalhealthstories
