Another lovely day out from Sunny Rhyl on Luna-Sea Charters. Crew for today were a great bunch of lads from Bradford SAC. Weather once again was glorious. Fishing on the ebb was a bit patchy but did pick up on the flooding tide with some decent huss coming to the boat, mackerel are still patchy but there was an improvement in numbers on yesterday’s trip. Here’s a couple of pictures from the day.

Not a bad day afloat today with some of the members of Wanksac, steady fish to the boat all day albeit a lack of mackerel in any numbers. Definitely showing signs of improvement, plenty of huss with some half decent tub gurnards coming to the boat, took a few pictures, apologies for the quality.

A couple of fish from today's trip in glorious weather on Luna-sea from Rhyl, apologies for the handling of the Tope in the picture on the left but I did my best to explain to Tomas who had no understanding of English !! Adrian in the picture on the right had more of an understanding, having said that both fish swam off very strongly after a few quick pics, other species were rays, Huss , dogs, various gurnards, codling , whiting Dabs and mackerel, all in all a great day. didn't weigh the Tope as I like to get them back asap.

Nice Tope for Niel in the MADSAC species hunt, estimated weight in the 30-35lb bracket, swam off strongly after a few pics.

Showing signs of summer on Luna-Sea charters, it may be a small tub but we are going in the right direction.

We managed to get yesterday's 8 hr trip away, with an early sailing time of 05-45 we sailed on an ebbing tide to fish a mark around seven miles due north, we anchored up on the falling edge of a small bank, the forecast to be honest was not brilliant with winds mainly from a southerly direction, fairly light at first but picking up later in the day, the anglers were a mixture of novice's and experienced and a great bunch they turned out to be. There was fish coming to the boa...t from the start and that's how it was for the duration of the trip, mostly whiting, dabs, dogs and we boated around 15 or so huss with the best probably pushing the 10 lb mark, the fishing did ease a little as we started to lose the tide approaching low water, i thought wind may pick up with the start of the flooding tide so advised the lad's that a move to an inshore mark would be a wise move taking into consideration the forecast's so the move was made to a mark within a mile of the harbour, as it turned out the wind did freshen with the flood so it turned out a pretty good call, the fishing on the inshore mark was a fair bit slower with the fish not of the same quality as earlier in the day, there was the first mack caught yesterday so sure signs of improvement, i would expect the quality of the fishing to improve week on week from here on in as the summer species start to populate our water's with some great varied fishing to look forward to, all in all i think yesterday's angler's thoroughly enjoyed their day, look forward to the next trip.

The weather has put the mockers on today's trip, with strong south easterlies forecast with heavy rain so a no brainer really, even though it's frustrating and a dissapointment for the lad's who booked safety and providing an enjoyable day must always be the priority, let's the weather god's are smiling down for the 16th eh Wayne.
