About Lurvill'S Delight
The legend of Lurvills Delight began when Harold & Lolo Lewis, twin brothers from the Rhondda Valley, created their botanical carbonate in 1896.
Lurvill'S Delight Description
A botanical soda, made using Welsh spring water & natural ingredients including nettle, dock and juniper berry extract, based on an original recipe from 1896. The drink has a rich red hue, is gently carbonated, dry and refreshing - and free of artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. With no added sugar, it’s also low in calories - just 66 in each bottle - so it’s the perfect adult soft drink!
Originally created by twin brother residents of Ynyshir, Harold and Lolo Lewis, legend has it that profits made from the drink were used to pay for 150 coal miners and their families from the village to emigrate to Pittsburgh and Denver in the USA. The drink ceased production in 1910 due to a shortage of dock leaves in the local area.
Now, 120 years on, Lurvill’s Delight is being made in Wales again!
