Expected more... popped in for lunch one afternoon. Took approx 10-15 minutes after ordering to advise they'd ran out of the chicken starter. Character of the building is great, quality of the food, so so...

Well what can i say about this place...If you have no problem with poor hygiene then this is the place for you...We arrived unable to check in at the time they had said as they were apparently cleaning the room..When we went up to the pokey room which was the "Queen room" it was not only dirty with used toilet tissue and dirt all on bathroom floor..The bedsheets hadn't been changed from previous guests and had stains and hair on sheets..The door wouldn't lock on the room and the staff promised to get thus fixed while we attended a concert..We had no choice but to leave it as we had to be at a concert by a certain time...We then returned at 1a.m to find they had forced the lock shut and with 2 small children we were unable to get back into the room!!!!We then had to call someone to allow us to access the room.The following morning down to the awful depressing unclean dining room to be met by a member of staff coughing all over anything that she was serving from the kitchen..Then for the delight of the breakfast-one word awful-bread left out with dirty tea towel left over it and cooked breakfast inedible...This place cost me £210 for 2 rooms for 1 night!!If you have any sense at all STAY AWAY!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...After complaining to their customer services they offered me another stay..NO THANKYOU

We were met by a member of staff asking if we'd booked at the entrance. She was very pleasant & helpful.
We have visited many times before but the reason I only gave 4* on this occasion is that the lad who was in the process of taking our order was interrupted by another member of staff to sort out a problem with a previous customer. As our order was partly processed another member of staff couldn't take it over . This resulted in us waiting whilst he dealt with the other customer. He apologised profusely numerous times as he obviously felt very uncomfortable with the situation. In my opinion a manager should have overseen this an acted accordingly.
The food was excellent and staff were polite & helpful. We particularly like coming with the grandchildren as there is a secure play area & plenty of outside seating

Only had a drink beer not good and £6 for a pint and 1/2 a bit much around this area

Lovely place food looks lovely but is pricey i will try it though as it smells beautiful ive only had drinks in the bar

Really tasty hot sandwiches and kids meals great. The kids loved the play area and outdoor bar was open and lovely seating area outside too. Friendly staff will visit again
