The Area
Maindee is just on the edge of town and so is within easy reach of Builth Wells’ many shops and pubs, plus the Groe park which is on the Wye River provides a lovely walk, cycle or picnic spot.
The Royal Welsh showground with it’s many events during the year such as the Royal Welsh Show and Spring /Winter festivals is just a 10 minute walk away.
Maindee is a great base for exploring the local countryside. The spectacular Elan valley lies 15 miles north where you can explore the dams and lakes set amongst the hills. Hay is 20 miles to the away which is famous for its book shops and antiques. It also has plenty of places for a cup of tea and a cake. The Brecon beacons national park is also nearby with its many nature walks and sites. Or take a trip up to the beach of Aberystwyth or Newquay for fish and chips, seaside attractions and perhaps even see a dolphin or 2!
