OLD NAGS OF NANTYDERRY Going back in time to the 1980’s I visited what I think was The Horseshoe Inn. If I am right, it was a meeting place and watering hole for players from Pontypool Rugby Club, including the legendary Pontypool Front Row - Bobby Windsor, Graham Price and Charlie Faulkner. It seems there was an in-house society known as the Old Nags of Nantyderry. If any of your older patrons remember any of this, kindly drop me a line to confirm that it was the Horseshoe.... Went to eat here four out of seven night stay in local cottage. Sunday roast was wonderful. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend. A hidden gem indeed. Susan and Trevor from Essex

The chef is really the master of desserts. Had another fantastic meal there for steak night on Friday. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Popped in here just on passing on a weekend evening recently. A hidden gem! Portions were huge and for a VERY reasonable price, and the quality of the food was fantastic. Everything home made and cooked to perfection. Although we hadn't booked there was no fuss, room was made and we had a wonderful meal. Staff were lovely. We will be back :)
