I'm posting this week's portrait to honour my faithful friend, Noodle, who crossed the rainbow bridge a few days ago, after a long and happy life. I painted it back in 2007 when he was five years old. Originally a stray, he was the loveliest dog, always cheerful, active, and brave to the end; he earned himself the nickname of Mister Perfect. Rest in peace dear little chap <3

It doesn't get much more Welsh than this! I was asked to paint a large watercolour of the October ram show and sale of our local breed, the Welsh Hill Speckle Face, at the Mart which is a few hundred yards from my studio in Devil's Bridge. The mart is held weekly and is as much a social as a trading event for the local farmers, where they catch up on the week's goings on and share knowledge and news, and maybe a bit of gossip. The painting was auctioned yesterday at the br...eed society 50th anniversary open day and fetched a very good price, the profit of which is going to charity. It incorporates a specially commissioned poem by Eurig Salisbury, which reads: Dafad Benfrith Bryniau Cymru Ar y doldir, di-ildio, – ac ar graig Yr un mor ddiwyro, Hawdd a gwâr, mam ddiguro, Y pen brith, penna’n ei bro.
