Maxines Cafe & Bookshop

The upstairs bookshop is a fun place for a browse. I've visited twice and haven't come away empty handed. There seems to be a permanent half price sale however... visited in 2017 and again last month (Jan 18) and both times there has been a "50% off" sale, but books seem to be priced accordingly (i.e. the 50% off price seems to be about the right price). It's quite large and well-stocked so allow some time for book hunting. Ask for a receipt if you want one. Had a cuppa in the cafe downstairs - friendly and nice but can get very busy with the kids activity area which is accessed through the cafe.

Reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff. I needed to use wi-fi but was more than happy to eat their fudge cake as well.
