'MeetTheBeat' is a practical drum teaching service.
This means I teach you to bring out the natural abilities and rhythms that I believe you already have within. As much as reading musical script is a very important factor it can quite often get in the way while you are learning 'actual' drumming. I believe you should be fully focused on one thing only and that is 'Total Drum Coordination' . This engages you fully to the task of playing music accurately and in good time with a band. Breaking down a song can be done while you are playing it and I can teach you all the methods which have put me in good stead over all these years. ( It is important to note that reading music is very important and you can still learn this once you have acquired a sufficient amount of practical experience. ) My name is Garry Davies and I have shared the stage with many great players over my time. These include Marillion, Girlschool, Magnum, The Beautiful South, Ruby Turner and Edwin Star.
If you already own a kit I can teach from your home, or if you prefer I can teach you from a music shop where there is already a drum kit supplied.
