Tradition is very important to the land owners and users in local communities, something that hits home in a big way when you visit Meirion Davies & Co Ltd, Agricultural Merchants in Denbigh.
This area of North Wales has undergone much change in the last two decades, but the day to day life of the farming community is still very much as it was.
Run today by the three sons of the original owner, Meirion Davies & Co Ltd has been right at the heart of the supply chain for the local agricultural industry since 1964, when Meirion, along with his wife Audrey, established the company on his smallholding.
Originally set up to provide for those in need of seeds and animal health products, these self same items remain the company’s core business even now, however over the years we’ve expanded our product range significantly, making us the go-to for agricultural supply needs for many in Denbigh and the surrounding areas.
The business stayed on the original farm site until 2001, when it moved to a purpose-built site on the Colomendy Industrial Estate in Denbigh. Meirion Davies passed away in 2002, aged 73, and left the business in the capable hands of his three sons. Hywel, Huw and Rob came into the business as soon as they left school, learnt the ropes and became active in the day to day running of the company.
Our site now covers close to 1. 5 acres and our delivery vans and lorries can be seen across Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Conwy, Wrexham, Cheshire and the Wirral. All fourteen of our employees are from the local area, demonstrating our commitment to the local economy.
We’re well stocked with fencing materials, gates and troughs, shavings, bulk feed and fertiliser as well as a large warehouse area that stocks feed buckets and minerals, seeds, shavings, silage /hay requirements, pet supplies, agro chemicals, dairy hygiene and much more. The retail shop area is stocked with animal health products, clothing, footwear and wellingtons, toys, household items, and all general items required by farmers on a day to day basis.

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who visited us on show day. We hosted a customer’s afternoon as a small token of our appreciation for your custom throughout the year - and what a huge success is was too! Many thanks to The Brookhouse Mill for their help and the delicious pork and stuffing baps!🍻🥂
Blodwen’s Birthday: Our annual competition was to guess the cow’s birthday painted by Catrin Evans, to be in with a chance of winning a load ...of prizes from Dalton Tags. We raised £150 on the day and all proceeds have gone to the Ladies Lunch at The Brookhouse Mill in aid of North Wales Cancer Appeal.
The winning dates were picked before the day as the birthdays of Meirion & Audrey Davies, who established the company over 50 years ago, and 3rd prize was picked at random.
