A nice walk today around Three Crosses for the Swansea Ramblers walking group.
Please like my new Nordic Walking page on facebook.
Lesson number 3 learnt today. When out to recce a route, always use the Ordinance survey map and don't rely on the printed instructions unless you want to do extra walking.
Nice 4.5 mile walk today, a bit rough underfoot. Some nice views and a pub lunch at the Pemberton Arms in great company.
There are other benefits to Nordic Walking. The conclusion of one study, is that pole walking is feasible for breast cancer-treated women with arm lymphedema.

Really nice evening walk in the dark on the Llanelli Millennium path with the group using night lights. No need to stop walking due to the dark nights now.
Badger from The WAVE tries out Nordic Walking at the Health event at Penyrheol Leisure Centre. Got a good plug for Nordic Walking this morning on the radio. http://www.thewave.co.uk/
Fantastic walk in great company around Stackpole and Broad Haven with a fab lunch at the Govens Inn and the tea rooms at Stackpole Quay.
Great day at the Nordic Walking UK conference. Off for a 6 mile Nordic walk around the lilly ponds at Stackpole and Barafundle Bay with the group.
Torches at the ready for the winter Nordic Walking sessions. Give me a call if you would like to join in. Why sit indoors during the winter, when you could be outside in the fresh air, having fun.
Well done to Suzanne, graham, Sharon and Barbara for completing the Macmillan 14 mile walk challenge today from Port Eynon to Mumbles by Nordic Walking. Also to Sarah for completing the 22 mile. Great weather and company and a wonderful achievement from Barbara, from only doing a mile in January to 14 now, fantastic achievement.
Had a great 5 mile walk from Southgate along the Coastal path this afternoon trialling the new downloadable walking APP for the Gower Landscape Partnership. Some stunning views en-route using the sat nav directed system.
Well done to the Nordic Walking group on their 10 mile walk from Llanrhidian to Llanmadoc and back via Cheriton and Weobly Castle. Nice warm up for the 14 mile Gower MacMillan Macmarathon.
Started day 1 of the 21 day weight loss program with Pete Cohen and Nordic Walking UK. All about changing attitudes to eating rather than not eating, and Nordic walking every day. http://www.weightlossguru.com/
Hopefully the storms will stay away for the 5 mile Nordic Walk this morning from Llangennith, over Burry Holmes, Broughton to the Kings Head at Llangennith (for refreshments) and back to Hill End.
Great session Nordic Walking on the beach tonight. The fitness group worked on knee and ankle control. whilst the beginners worked on foot drive and control. Fantastic, it is great to see the changes in peoples posture through Nordic Walking.
Cerreg Cennen Castle walk postponed to following week due to me assisting Nordic Walking UK at the Fitness Wales Conference next Saturday, promoting Nordic Walking.
New Nordic Walking Schedule posted. Two new 'Learn To Nordic Walk' courses running. People say they can't believe it is so difficult in the beginning, but love it when they get the hang of it. Why not come along to one of the taster sessions and give it a go?
