Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the country and further afield to celebrate the first wine of the season. Wonderful choice of meals.All the members of our group had different types of fish as main courses.Empty plates were returned to the kitchen! Staff were very efficient in their work.The restraunt has a wonderful ambiance. I'm looking forward to a return visit and hopefully ,the weather may be kind,and a meal sitting on the verandah would be a real treat.I've just noticed that closing time was 2.30pm - we left about 4.45 pm! We visited this evening for an anniversary meal. My husband and I wanted a table for 7.30 and were relatively late booking. They managed to fit us in at 7.45pm. On arrival we were informed we could either go straight to our seats or have a drink outside first which was what we opted for and we were not rushed to be seated which was lovely. When ordering we opted for the 2 courses for ┬Ż19.95. We ordered the lamb koftas to start, my husband had braised lamb as a main and I had duck confit. Both starters and mains were absolutely beautiful and tender. We were very surprised that they were in the ┬Ż20 deal and how nice they were. Service was very good. CouldnŌĆÖt fault the meal and evening at all. Thank you very much for a enjoyable evening and amazing food :-)

We used to frequent the Miskin Arms for family meals on a regular basis but hadnŌĆÖt been there for a number of years. The refurbished Miskin Arms is very impressive. The staff were welcoming & attentive (although not in your face) & the ambience & decor was excellent. The menu is very good especially for fish fans & the display of fish & meat at the counter was very impressive.



The food was excellently cooked & presented & the service was great.



The prices arenŌĆÖt cheap but given the quality of the experience we had no complaints. The two courses for ┬Ż19.95 is excellent value though & we fully intend to return & sample the lunch menu very soon.

The restaurant was far from busy when we got there but they were light on staff (I think) due to the snow we'd had over night and that morning and this probably explained the nervousness on taking the booking. That said, Dudley was welcoming as were the rest of the staff and the food was excellent as always. We had the lunch time special but washed it down with a couple of bottles of red given the weather. Waitresses were attentive and service was very good. Kids (10 & 8) were catered for and they loved it too. Thanks guys and will definitely be returning.

I was taken here on Sunday for lunch by friends. I had never been before but what a lovely place to visit it was . Lovely setting to sit and have my roast beef dinner. The beef was so tender and tasty and great Yorkshire pudding and a lovely choice of veg. Service was great and canŌĆÖt wait to come back. Thankyou all

Had a surprise lunch at this lovely restaurant. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We both had ribs to start. They were so tender and tasty. For main course we had lemon sole which again fell apart. A side order of asparagus completed the meal. Waiting and bar staff attentive and professional. Lovely venue and canŌĆÖt wait to visit again.

After being let down by another restaurant I was eager to find somewhere for myself and my husband to have lunch and the Miskin Arms fitted us in last minute (I rang at 1.15 and we were seated by 1.45). I am so glad they had a table!! The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. The place was full when we arrived but the food was not long being served and they couldnŌĆÖt do enough for us to ensure we had a lovely meal and everything was to our satisfaction. Excellent meal , my Husband has the lunchtime menu , which was Home made vegetable soup , followed by a meat pie , both looked , smelt and tasted delicious , I forgoed the starter , and had the grilled Monkfish followed by the black currant cheese cake ,once again delicious . Came here to celebrate two of my friends turning 30 and all the staff were so accommodating and made it very special for us all. They were happy for me to drop cakes in early as I wanted to surprise my friends and they couldnŌĆÖt do enough for us when we were there. Fantastic service and the food was delicious as always x

We went here last Thursday night for dinner food was very good and customer service was also good. Disappointing part of night was cousins ordered Lemon Sole for dinner on board it said┬Ż17.95 what it failed to say was you pay by the weight which in turn cost around ┬Ż27 each an extra ┬Ż10 to the expected cost, when asked about cost little concern was given to our query and to be told on leaving when it was mentioned to the Manager that it was a new employee on for the night, sorry you do not blame staff for your lack of communication to customers, maybe you should review how you have this written up,

The disappointing part for you is now cousin who was part of the evening was thinking of booking venue for combined Birthday and Anniversary dinner for 2 groups of guests. Unfortunately this put a dampener on what was our last night in Wales before our return to Australia. I would have preferred contacting restaurant via email before giving a review but there was not one available.

Having not been here in years it was a nice surprise to see the wonderful improvements. I took my elderly mother and her 2 friend, the staff were very pleasant and the food was beautiful. If I was to find fault with anything it would be the disabled parking it should be on the same level as the pub not in the car park round the side of the pub, next time we go I will drop them off outside the pub then go and park. If it wasn't for this they would of scored a 5 from me. Looking forward to a return visit.

We thought our meal was beautiful, the surroundings lovely and staff wonderful! However imagine our surprise and disappointment when my parents meals were ┬Ż20 more than quoted!! It turns out that the ┬Ż17.95 lemon Sole ( price quoted on menu board) is only a guide price as it's based on weight ! There is nothing in the place that eludes to this and no one explained this to us when we ordered. It's fine to make that same choice if you are aware but to mislead people with a price on a board and then charge nearly double is not on! In all honesty it's put me off planning a birthday celebration there in June. Please get some signs up or at least explain at the counter that this may happen when you are taking an order . Even better still price the fish per gram or kilo on your menu board .

IŌĆÖve been here on several occasions and always liked it. I was a little disappointed with the service last night 11.1.18. As it was very slow and they brought one too many starters because they didnŌĆÖt listen properly when our order was taken. I also thought the price for garlic bread was too expensive give the size of the portions. They were not overly busy, not that it would have been an excuse

Food lovely but most of the staff we dealt with were quite rude and unprofessional. When one of our party asked for a coffee the waitress in an irritated voice said "well which one". That sealed the deal really. We all came to the same conclusion that we will not be returning. Shame as it is a local pub.

I ordered the duck and IŌĆÖll say it was almost an hour after asking staff where was my main course. Too much red cabbage and the duck was ok not special. The veg looked frozen too. All in all a very expensive meal that looked like it was from the freezer. I could of done better myself. The staff were very unfriendly & not helpful and rude & ignorant. When the bill was called for the waiter was very prompt and still had an arrogance about him.

I donŌĆÖt think IŌĆÖll be in a rush to go back.

The beef was so tender and tasty and great Yorkshire pudding and a lovely choice of veg. Service was great and canŌĆÖt wait to come back. Thankyou all

Had a surprise lunch at this lovely restaurant. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We both had ribs to start. They were so tender and tasty. For main course we had lemon sole which again fell apart. A side order of asparagus completed the meal. Waiting and bar staff attentive and professional. Lovely venue and canŌĆÖt wait to visit again.

Food and service was outstanding!! After being let down by another restaurant I was eager to find somewhere for myself and my husband to have lunch and the Miskin Arms fitted us in last minute (I rang at 1.15 and we were seated by 1.45). I am so glad they had a table!! The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. The place was full when we arrived but the food was not long being served and they couldnŌĆÖt do enough for us to ensure we had a lovely meal and everything was to our satisfaction. We will definitely be returning. Diolch yn fawr am bryd o fwyd bendigedig!!!

Excellent meal , my Husband has the lunchtime menu , which was Home made vegetable soup , followed by a meat pie , both looked , smelt and tasted delicious , I forgoed the starter , and had the grilled Monkfish followed by the black currant cheese cake ,once again delicious . Came here to celebrate two of my friends turning 30 and all the staff were so accommodating and made it very special for us all. They were happy for me to drop cakes in early as I wanted to surprise my friends and they couldnŌĆÖt do enough for us when we were there. Fantastic service and the food was delicious as always x

Amazing food as always! My first visit was just before Christmas and have been back several times since, BirthdayŌĆÖs MotherŌĆÖs Day and out with friends. Always great food and friendly, staff, who canŌĆÖt do enough to help! Love it here will continue to go back again and again.....

We went here last Thursday night for dinner food was very good and customer service was also good. Disappointing part of night was cousins ordered Lemon Sole for dinner on board it said┬Ż17.95 what it failed to say was you pay by the weight which in turn cost around ┬Ż27 each an extra ┬Ż10 to the expected cost, when asked about cost little concern was given to our query and to be told on leaving when it was mentioned to the Manager that it was a new employee on for the night, sorry you do not blame staff for your lack of communication to customers, maybe you should review how you have this written up,

The disappointing part for you is now cousin who was part of the evening was thinking of booking venue for combined Birthday and Anniversary dinner for 2 groups of guests. Unfortunately this put a dampener on what was our last night in Wales before our return to Australia. I would have preferred contacting restaurant via email before giving a review but there was not one available.

Having not been here in years it was a nice surprise to see the wonderful improvements. I took my elderly mother and her 2 friend, the staff were very pleasant and the food was beautiful. If I was to find fault with anything it would be the disabled parking it should be on the same level as the pub not in the car park round the side of the pub, next time we go I will drop them off outside the pub then go and park. If it wasn't for this they would of scored a 5 from me. Looking forward to a return visit.

We thought our meal was beautiful, the surroundings lovely and staff wonderful! However imagine our surprise and disappointment when my parents meals were ┬Ż20 more than quoted!! It turns out that the ┬Ż17.95 lemon Sole ( price quoted on menu board) is only a guide price as it's based on weight ! There is nothing in the place that eludes to this and no one explained this to us when we ordered. It's fine to make that same choice if you are aware but to mislead people with a price on a board and then charge nearly double is not on! In all honesty it's put me off planning a birthday celebration there in June. Please get some signs up or at least explain at the counter that this may happen when you are taking an order . Even better still price the fish per gram or kilo on your menu board .

IŌĆÖve been here on several occasions and always liked it. I was a little disappointed with the service last night 11.1.18. As it was very slow and they brought one too many starters because they didnŌĆÖt listen properly when our order was taken. I also thought the price for garlic bread was too expensive give the size of the portions. They were not overly busy, not that it would have been an excuse

Food lovely but most of the staff we dealt with were quite rude and unprofessional. When one of our party asked for a coffee the waitress in an irritated voice said "well which one". That sealed the deal really. We all came to the same conclusion that we will not be returning. Shame as it is a local pub.

First impressions the bar staff were sullen there was no please,thank you or service with a smile. Food nice but again staff sullen, one order missed and staff compensated with extra chips and a glass of wine. Overall a Nice place but the staff need to work on their communication skills and greet customers in a friendly way.

This was a disaster from the beginning. Arrived and didnŌĆÖt see staff to say I had arrived and waited by the food order counter & was completely ignored by the women there. Then saw a member of staff & shown to my table. Went back to the food counter to order my meal. The starter board was confusing as it looked like the crevettes was for two people & very expensive so i opted for prawns & avocado. Very unhappy with this as the prawns were still icy from being defrosted quickly & had no flavour. Now mains. I was offered salmon that I didnŌĆÖt order.. I ordered the duck and IŌĆÖll say it was almost an hour after asking staff where was my main course. Too much red cabbage and the duck was ok not special. The veg looked frozen too. All in all a very expensive meal that looked like it was from the freezer. I could of done better myself. The staff were very unfriendly & not helpful and rude & ignorant. When the bill was called for the waiter was very prompt and still had an arrogance about him.

I donŌĆÖt think IŌĆÖll be in a rush to go back.
