I love this store anyway! Friendly staff, amazing clothes and toys... But today I took my daughter's car seat back after there was a small problem with one of the straps. I bought it in the St David's Centre and refused to take the bulky thing back there so took it to Newport Rd store. I was served by Owain and the problem was rectified and I had a new car seat in exchange for the faulty one. It was quite busy but it was dealt with promptly and I noticed that other members of staff were called to help other waiting customers. Fantastic service and I'm so happy that I was able to exchange my car seat. Thank you!

Can not fault the staff here in newport road store.. Nothing but help and advice since we walked through the door..!! Really helped us with a pushchair we purchased. The member off staff to hand was Lisa.. Very polite., knew her stuff and also a good laugh., along with two others that helped and the Manager also!!

A huge thank you for the outstanding service with the fitting of two car seats over two separate days. Particular thanks to Steve (manager), Tasha, Meghann & Justin. Would highly recommend should anyone need to purchase a new car seat. All staff are extremely knowledgable and clearly well trained, giving me the upmost confidence. Nothing was too much trouble, in fact spending nearly two hours on one visit until we got the right car seat for the car! Thanks again

Visited to see santa which was an awful example of a santa little one screamed the whole time and no gift given. No crafts or face painting like it said and then paid £5.50 for my little one to play which is a lot seen as the play area is so small and she is only just over the age of 1

me and my partner went to took at purchasing a car seat for our little boy in this store about a month ago now.. Declan came to our car with the seat that we wanted, fitted it in to see if it would fit, he said yeah, and ordered it for us.. it came to our house, but we wanted to go back to get it fitted professionally.. got there, the manager of the store fitted it, but told us it wasn't suitable for our baby, and his head would flop forward if he was to fall asleep. She told us that Declan was in the wrong to have adviced this car seat the way it was fitted in the back of the car, and he also didn't fill out a fitting sheet. In the end we had to have a refund, and ending up coming home with no new car seat, and still using our old one. The staff that day we extremely helpful, we spent over 2 hours in store trying to find a seat to fit our car.. none.. all in all, happy with the service, but very angry with the service and information we received first time round by Declan...

absolutely awful, wont be buying from here again. used to just deal with the awful customer service due to the convenience of location but really fed up of lack of concern for safety of my child

Well talk about rude staff. I couldn't fault all the young staff but this one older staff member had a face like a smacked arse! She was so rude and abrupt.. seemed like what we asked for was a effort for her. Then was told we would have to test the car seat in which we did and she had a huff as she didn't even know how to fit it then after all that fuss was to be told it was out of stock!so that was pointless. Chose a pram I wanted.. I asked to be shown how it folds etc which again was effort for this staff member then after the fuss of that to be told it's out of stock. Bloody check stock first before. She needs to learn some customer service skills and learn how to smile.. If she can't stand talking to people and helping them then she's clearly in the wrong job! She put me off buying anything so I left and bought all I needed elsewhere!

Visited yesterday with daughter in law and the help that the lady said she would get never appeared,,so we went to the cafe and the cake tasted like it was 8 days old...dirty high chairs for the baby..and flies everywhere..overpriced food...walked out empty handed..don't waste your time.

The click and collect service is a disgrace.

One poor member of staff being responsible for collecting and distributing parcels and fitting car seats being collected.

I couldn’t wait any longer so now have to drive back to the store another day to collect my parcels...

Second time to visit store this week and had abysmal service. Have now been waiting 30+ minutes for someone to advise me on a stroller! I just want to buy one and there's no one here to help... right I'm off to Argos!

Really unhappy with the service I have recently received. I purchased a car seat from the Newport road store nearly a month ago - followed the staff advice for them to fit this for me. The member of staff who "tested" the suitability of the car seat pulled the car seat with such force that it has caused a fault with our seatbelt system in the car. We reported this to the manager at the time. Only to be told to that we would have to get the car fixed and request to be reimbursed - the diagnostics tests cost £150 alone, without the cost of repair!! As we refused to do this and requested that Mothercare meet the full costs - we have been left waiting for an outcome from head office! Meanwhile we have a 9 month old baby and are unable to take her anywhere in the car. Lost a lot of respect for this company!!

REALLY saddened by my visit to mothercare Newport road today! To be told very rudely that an offer had been pulled on the 5th of august even though I have visited four times after one being three day ago with the offer still attached and reassured by staff members that the offer was still in place and would be until the 26th of august, as store was very busy and no member of staff capable in showing me how the pram/carseat worked I was told to come back, during week when quieter. Did so today and got appalling customer service from the manager of the store. I am 7 months pregnant and was waiting an hour and ten minutes in store stood up being spoken to very rudely in an unacceptable manner. I appreciate that offers expire but to be told four times to come back and the offer would still exist you can understand that this was very annoying to me. The manager was not once apologetic or sympathetic but continued to tell me they could basically do what they wanted. it seems like staff have received no training in how to operate their products and also training in customer service wouldn't go amiss. Especially a customer service MANAGER!

Ordered clothes in the sale 'click and collect' went to the store and was told the order hadn't come in, called a few days later - order still not in. 2 weeks later and it turns out the order should have been packed in store for me and now the goods are all out of stock. Nice one mothercare. Worst customer service ever - And the phone line for Newport Road is Constantly engaged.

Ordered a car seat and base to the store, when I arrived I was expected to carry it to my car despite being 6 months pregnant. Luckily a nice man offered to help.

I think it is absolutely disgraceful to charge anything for children to play in your ball pit.. Let alone £5,50...you are totally exploiting your customers.. Many various shops and cafes offer free child activities.. As a business that is all about children it seems ridiculous that you would treat your customers in this way.. As most customers shop at your store with children..you are cynically exploiting the parent and discriminating against a number of customer's who could simply not afford such a ridiculous charge. Shame on you mothercare.

I ordered and paid in full for our iCandy Peach with adapters on Thursday 15th June 2017.



Advised by the gentleman that served and ordered our pram in store it could take between 2-4 working days to receive our iCandy Peach and adapters, we patiently waited...



We didn't receive our paid goods until Thursday 13th July 2017.



I had to download the Twitter App and register in order to contact Mothercare Support after being dismissed previously in store and by customer service agents on the phone.



I returned to the City Link, Newport Road branch 3 weeks after receiving our iCandy Peach and adapters to ask for help assembling, but we were told that the wrong adapters for the car seat were ordered so we couldn't use the double pram/car seat "at no fault of our own".



Initially an order was raised for the correct adapters to be exchanged for the wrong adapters we received "GREAT".

We were then told NO after me persisting to use the adapters in the meanwhile until we received the correct ones leaving us with a pram that cannot accommodate either of our daughters...

Currently sat in mothercare Cardiff Newport Road store, toilets have no toilet paper very dirty, sink don't work in baby changing room, told cafe staff about it to get the toilets don't belong to us but will inform mothercare staff, waiting ten minutes now still no toilet paper in ladies or disabled toilets, disabled also very unclean with pee all over floor ect, not very nice for children or adults. Very poor for a big company that basic standards are not followed. Sorry mothercare very disappointed!

Awful customer service constantly on a number of times I have purchased products here. There's never enough staff on and usually only half of the staff actually know what they are doing. I have had incorrect orders placed by members of staff a number of times and staff attitude is never apologetic. Had a issue with ordering my nursery furniture which I emailed head office about and complained to which I never recieved to reply.

If you plan on visiting and buying something make sure u have a few hours free because by the time they try to figure out how to use the ipads in store you will be waiting a long time.
