Mountain View Pub & Restaurant

Do not come here I order a burger chips and beans chips not cooked burger was bland beans were minging . The staff memeber handed a hot plate to a baby no concideration my nephew had pizza and he even spat it out it was awful .The hygiene is terrible dogs running round the place and in and kitchen cutlery was dirty and my drink was flat used the last of my money and I am disappointed I certainly won't be returreturning

Waited 40 minutes an undercooked starter (wedges with cheddar and bacon) wedges were hard.
A further 30 minutes passed as we waited for our mains. 10oz gammon steak with chips, topped with pineapple, complementarily soaked/saturated in a vinegar like liquid. The chips again were harder than the devils toenails and the egg was dripping in grease!
Failed to mention at the start that we ordered to large pepsi's, ended up with tinted soda water... bar staff failed to notice this and continued to serve this. I returned them to the bar and that issue was resolved. The place is relatively clean, but the music played; lets just say its not always for 'before the watershed'. Overall result, not impressed! A place that Marstons brewery should be ashamed of. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing! Massive word of advise, read the reviews on act on the negatives!!!

After a day of driving and sightseeing we decided to have dinner at The Mountain View. Immediately once we got through the door you could see staff casually chatting away without care. We awkwardly waited to ask about our table after being told to wait while they continued their chat. When we finally got a table the women covering the tables informed us she would fetch some cutlery after cleaning the other tables. Instead she took a picture of the mess on her phone and walked off. Her colleague then came over and cleared the other tables and had a sudden realisation that there was no music! Not that the only table of customers were still waiting for cutlery. After a few more minutes we simply walked out. Long story short, you're better of going somewhere else.

Now this is a surprise! Doesn't look great from the outside, and feels somewhat awkward when you first find a seat. Not very busy, and the noise from the chairs on a wooden floor makes it feel even more quite than it is. But the food is great, and the price is definitely right.... Enjoy!
