M&S Cardiff Llanishen Simply Food

We adore the pain au chocolate and M&S has the best French patisserie in town. I came from Pen-y-Lan especially for this specific item. We buying frozen ones and every morning we are indulging ourselves with fresh baked pain au chocolate and of course cup a tea! Very good prices of course! Just 2£ per bag with 10 pieces.

Food excellent and of super high quality, sadly this means super high prices, sometimes as much as double the price of a comparable item (of the same quality I might add) in Morrison's down the road. Now I don't mind paying for quality (I rarely cross threshold of Lidl these days), However £5 for a pack of biscuits identical to what you can pick up for £3 in Morrison's is just plain profiteering whatever way you want to look at it.

I started here on a Marks & Start programme in October last year, some staff were friendly & helpful. I was very disappointed by the level of care & help which I received from this store, with autism 'high-functioning' no retail experience I was left on my own. To do tasks with no instructions or guidance on how to get it done correctly. The pulling forward & shelf work was good though as there were some staff that were willing to help. At the end of my 2 weeks I didn't get a proper performance verdict interview as promised all the managers went home, so chased it up over 2 weeks, going down to the store & by phone. Finally after nearly 3 weeks of waiting all they produced was a 'crumpled A4 bit of paper stating I didn't meet the required level & didn't feel I could understand or get on with the tasks that they set for me', including that I was incapable of working in the retail industry. Was a total let down for such a respectable company & an insult, so in November 'a month after' same year I got a job in Sainsbury's as a 'checkout operator' with excellent staff & support all round. Wouldn't recommend M&S to anyone & my trust for the company is shattered.

Helpful staff. Good parking. Great range of products.

Not the biggest M&S and gets busy at times but good food if you don't mind paying a bit extra
