About Denbigh's Music Technology Centre

We are based at the Coleg Llandrillo Denbigh campus on Crown Lane, Denbigh. We have been established since 2008 and have helped hundreds of learners progress with their academic and professional lives.

We have our own Music Technology department with great facilities and with the feel of a specialist centre. We have two great studios including the HWB studio and a broad selection of instruments and recording equipment.

We offer level 1, 2 and 3 courses. They differ in length, content and difficulty. But all enjoy the same holidays similar to schools!

Level 1 is an introductory level course in performance, which includes music performance, recording, writing for performance, technical and creative aspects and subjects that help you decide on your next steps after the qualification. This course is 2 days a week for 6 months, is classed as part time and enjoyed for its variety and level of delivery.

The level 2 course is a music production course. It's an equivalent to GCSE qualifications, it's 3 days a week and is classed as full time. It runs for a whole year (September to June). This is a great foundation qualification that is both practical and of interest to anyone who wants to start producing and studying audio /music and media. It's a unique qualification with lots of scope for finding out what you like.

Level 3 courses are an equivalent to A levels. They run from September to June for 3 days a week and are classed as full time. If you like a broad and in depth view of the topic this is the level for you. You will study up to 20 different module topics over the two years and learn all you can think of to do with audio /music and related media. Including: computer games, music video, sound for film, composition, music production and much more.

So, if you are you passionate about music /audio and the creative industries, we give you a valuable insight into the creative sector. It will also help you develop a range of practical skills and techniques, preparing you for to work and study at a further level.

Each course provides a practical, work-related qualification, and you will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations. You will develop skills suitable for many careers, both in the music industry and in other areas of the creative industries.

90% of our graduates go on to work or continue education and they all grow and develop in confidence and skills.
