Orthodontic therapists are dental care professionals who have specialist training to carry out orthodontic treatment under the prescription and supervision of an orthodontist.
OT's start out as dental nurses and complete a post qualification in orthodontic nursing. Dental nursing is a very interesting and rewarding profession with many opportunities to gain extra qualifications to further your career. Like our therapists Claire, Sarah and Jane have.

Did you know that your first ever toothbrush is still in landfill somewhere! ! We have had a few inquiries recently regarding environmentally friendly toothbrushes. Wanting to stay ahead of the game we have been researching what's available. There are a number of products on the market that are eco friendly, several companies are making the toothbrush handles from sustainable wood such as bamboo. The difficulty is the bristles. Most seem to still use plastic, some being more ...environmentally friendly than others. The only fully biodegradable toothbrushes use natural bristles made from pig or badger hair. These are not vegan friendly, and are too hard and abrasive on the gums. We know that the large manufacturers of toothbrushes are looking into alternatives to plastic but at the moment there seem to be only a small number of companies that offer an eco friendly alternative. We have some bamboo handled brushes for sale at the clinic, just ask at reception for more information.

Following a tremendous effort from our engineers and all our staff we are very pleased to say that we will up and running again tomorrrow. We have pumped, moped, sterilised,replaced and polished until our clinic is gleaming again. Apologies again to all who were inconvenienced.

My daughter had bottom braces put on by Claire. A lovely lady who helped my daughter relax through the whole procedure which makes her return for top braces a lot less worrying.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Stephen Gould and the team at Neat Teeth for giving Emily the beautiful smile she deserves. Her teeth look amazing and she hasn’t stopped smiling since her braces came off on Tuesday. Emily’s braces were on for nearly 2 1/2 years and she also needed minor surgery for impacted canines during this time. The service and support from all the staff here during this time has been first class. So thank you once again for making a young lady (and her parents) very happy.

I would like to thank Stephen Gould and all of the team at Neat Teeth Orthodontics for the fantastic care and attention I have received during my orthodontic treatment. I was not offered orthodontic treatment when I was a teenager and thought that in my fifties it was too late, How wrong I was . Attended an appointment with my daughter today. The staff were very friendly. The therapist Claire and Orthodontist Angela were lovely and took time to explain everything to my daughter.

My personal experience is that my son's Orthodontist is quite impatient (mainly with me) for having the audacity to ask questions.

I am a medical professional myself, but was made to feel that I lacked intelligence.

My son has a medical condition, and having braces is a big deal, and not straightforward for him, so a little more understanding and patience would have been appreciated.

Well after travelling a long distance for the last few months today was the day my son was due to have his brace fitted all I can say not a good experience .

My son sat in the chair and the dentist started putting the things into his mouth when suddenly my son started heaving . He then sat my son up and told me that he could not have a brace .

I don't think he had the patience to be honest not a very good experience at all .
