Station not to bad, staff are helpful and friendly, taxi rank outside, the outside area not so welcoming, pubs, clubs and betting shops.
Newly renovated has left the train station looking marvelous. Easily accessible with clear indications of where trains will arrive and depart.
Train to bridgend held up due to another broken down train near cardiff. No buses. Had to get cab home after hour waiting. No hot drinks ... trolly on board though. Freezing cold. Hubby disabled ..with heavy luggage had to get cab as could not manage to a bus stop. Fellow passengers big thanks for helping me with luggage. Xxxx
I recently travelled from Hereford to Bath & I had booked assistance & I would like to say thank you to the person who helped me.( I think his name was Darren-very helpful)
Nice enough station. Sadly if you walk through town past some of the worst pubs and betting shops. Would be good to arrive in a more welcoming way. The council needs to actually employ a more talented town planning team (if they even have one).
Revamp is good staff needs to be helpful and cooperative instead of individual authority needs protocol from head office
The station is a lot nicer since the renovations a some years ago now but the platforms and amenities on them could do with a serious update.
What a dump of a place. Grubby, insufficient seating and on my visit, the long-stay side of the station had NO collection machines working, meaning I had to argue with the ticket barrier attendant, who, without so much as a 'sorry' sent me up and over to Platform 1 to repeat the story at the next set of barriers to then to all the way back again (with luggage) to the other side of the station. Unfortunately, the station personifies the city it serves: miserable, dirty and depressing.
The toilets on platform 6 are in need of a dam good clean. Does anyone know what a toilet brush looks like or better still how to use it. A deep clean and some repairs would not go a miss.
