A few years back a couple of members had the good fortune to meet Jeff Lowe - a Mountianeering Legend and an inspiration, responsible for developing new climbing styles, and opening new routes on some of the worlds most infamous faces. Sadly, having lived for some years with a neurodegenerative disease, he died yesterday.
Jeff made a fantastic film about his new solo winter route on the North Face of the Eiger, which gives some insight into his life, his struggles, and his amazing skills, and it's available to view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMvt0bpWj 2U&feature=youtu.be

This weekend is the club's Big Camping Weekend on Anglesey. There's loads to do, from hard climbing on the sea cliffs, to playing on the beaches, to some easier climbing for beginners and novices on Holyhead Mountain.
All are welcome, and the more the merrier! Let's make this one to remember - pop us a note below to let us know if you're coming along :)

Newmc has today been contacted by Andrew Fowler with thanks to its awesome members, Colin Carter and Amy Sinnott
Whilst beginning to make their descent down the mountain which was gradually getting steeper and more difficult for some of Andrew groups members, They saw Colin and Amy coming over a ridge and from there on they helped then decide to turn around and find a better route down. Colin was in search of the safest route whilst Amy remained with the group to keep everyo...ne calm. Once Colin had found a route they helped the group navigate all the way to the bottom of Tryfan and even shared a few laughs and stories at the bottom.
Colin and Amy have been described as a massive Credit to the club and that They are a massive part of the groups Tryfan experience that day. 😀
Thanks so much guys!! That is one of the most positive messages we have received lately and you are indeed a credit to NEWMC.
Remember all, keep safe on the mountains and continue to be seriously good people and help others where you can!
