**CHEF WANTED**
Olif is a 5 Star Restaurant with Rooms in Betws Y Coed, in the heart of Snowdonia. Our tapas restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists and we pride ourselves on using fresh, local ingredients to prepare dishes that take inspiration from Spanish tapas dishes.
We have an established menu which changes according to what’s in season, and we are looking for a chef who will help us to deliver our menu and maintain our high standards. Your primary duties wi...ll include:
Working with the owners to keep the menu fresh and interesting.
Preparing tapas dishes, using good portion control to maximise gross profit / margins
Ensuring that kitchen waste is kept to a minimum.
Cleaning down the kitchen and ensuring that there is compliance with food safety management legislation, to ensure our continued 5 star rating through Conwy County Borough Council’s Food Hygiene Scheme.
Ensuring that the kitchen is a safe working environment.
We are a small, close-knit team and we need a team player who is prepared to go beyond their job-description and occasionally ‘muck-in’ with whatever is needed to help with the smooth running of the restaurant and rooms. We also need someone who can remain calm under pressure and who can work closely with our established front of house team.
You should have a genuine passion for food and have experience of cooking with fresh ingredients. You should have previously held the position of chef for at least 2 years and be qualified to Level 3 Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
You must live locally or have your own transport as public transport to and from the area at night is very limited. This is a seasonal business and we have limited opening times between November to March. Salary is dependent on age and experience.

Ever tried our Anglesey Eggs / Wyau Mon and wondered how we make them so delicious?
Make some mash and add a little bit of Dragon Wales butter and cream. We also add Halen Môn Sea Salt and a bit of black pepper. Next sauté some leeks in butter and add to your mash. Next add slices of hard boiled free-range eggs. We get our eggs from Ochr Cefn Isa and they’re delicious. Next add some cream , season a little and top with mature Dragon cheddar cheese. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Delicious!!

On 25 January every year we celebrate St Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
After an ill-fated romance with Prince Maelon (who was then turned into ice), Dwynwen fled into the wilderness. In her solitude she prayed, and was granted three wishes: that Prince Maelon be thawed out; that she would never want to marry again; and that God would help other lovers on her behalf. All Dwynwen’s wishes were granted, and in return, she devoted her life to God and founded a convent on Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey.
As well as looking after the hearts of humans, she is the patron saint of sick and injured animals.

Wow...what a beautiful place

Just had a one night stay and it was great,we stayed in room 6 "The pink room" spotlessly clean and had everything you could need.Breakfast was wonderful,loved the fruit salad.

We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our stay and sampled the Welsh tapas, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Will definitely be going back to stay again.

Well done guys your doing a brilliant job,thank you for your hospitality xx

We visited Betws-y-Coed for a couple of days and looked on the TripAdvisor ratings for the best places to eat in the local town, and Olif was one of the top rated. Being tapas lovers we definitely wanted to visit! We booked a table for 8.15pm and the lady who I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and accommodating. (I would definitely recommend booking as it looked very busy when we arrived!) We were taken straight to our table and shown the menus, I chose the tapas and my partner had the burger. The food was delicious, especially the tapas dish that was egg, cheese and mashed potato



If you are looking for a beautiful restaurant with a buzzy atmosphere and scrummy food then you should definitely visit Olif! Thank you for looking after us!

We stayed here for a couple of days and were drawn in because they allow dogs in. What a find ... this place was amazing, the food was delicious and so varied. We cannot recommend Olif enough, the ladies love what they do and the atmosphere reflects this !! Go and try it ... we loved it 😍

We are currently staying at the Olif...what an incredible place.

Rooms are fantastic value... Lots of little extras such as cafetiere coffee in the rooms and little bottles of fresh milk in the fridge on the landing, sparkling and fresh water plus cordial drinks .. Oh and waffles instead of biscuits.. Yum.

Rooms have free WiFi, dab radio and catch up TV service. Rainfall showers and super comfortable beds.

Ate dinner here last night and was superb as was the breakfast this morning.

The best value we have received Inn a long time....will definitely returned

Thought this was a lovely little deli restaurant, lovely staff, service was spot on as was the food, great choice of dishes & cakes, all at amazing great value for money!

Stayed at the Olif last night , surprise birthday treat for my husband , such a lovely little gem of a place , our room was beautiful spotlessly clean and very cosy . The chef had made a chocolate brownie with a candle on top with fresh fruit a cream for my husbands birthday and it was presented lovely in our room on arrival . Very warm welcome from the owners,nothing was too much trouble , breakfast very nice and plenty of choice , top class B&B restaurant will return for sure , could not fault in any way . Fabulous.

Lovely little hotel surrounded with woods and rivers, delicious food and drink!

Made to feel welcome and a very warm atmosphere here, would definitely recommend

Good base to visit snowdon and other popular locations (the chicken is cooked perfectly! And I loved the Mojitos!!!!)

Lovely comfy room, tea tray was great, including fresh milk in a small fridge outside the room, massive fluffy towels, and a very comfy bed, breakfast was lovely, the restaurant is also great, tapas was delicious, definitely recommended

Just got back from staying at Olif Monday- Friday, we honestly had the best holiday, the staff were so so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, topped up with yummy drinks and snacks each day and we even had Netflix! Breakfast was delicious with so much choice! We had dinner at the Olif restaurant one evening and it was incredible, especially the cheesecake. I just want to say thank you once again to everyone at Olif - the loveliest staff. We cannot wait to go back to North Wales and stay here again. X

Just eaten here for the first time, and was absolutely blown away by the food. One of the best meals out I've had in a very, very long time. Excellent service and a very warm, inviting atmosphere. I cannot recommend Olif highly enough.

Four of us dropped in on a recommendation and found a clean cut, cosy, Uber friendly establishment with the Best Tapas.



We are not experts but are all over fifty and have eaten about in this World and to us the food was very tasty and took a certain level of sophistication in the cooking....don't miss the breads either, really delicious.



Quaint, home spun friendly service with the best in everything, not one dish let it down.



The Skipton lass, our designated food and intel deliverer, nailed the hat on it with her genuine manner... luckily for both she and us, our lovely male beer waiter had finer whiskers 😉😊



Such great food with a big warm welcome, we Nom Nommed about it all the way home to our digs.



Miss it if you dare....we didn't and would revisit the area simply for the welcome and the food xx
