So, there it is. Front door of The Attic open and the morning sun streaming in. Good ol’ sun...I knew it would make a brazen appearance this morning. We are here, facing the world, cruel though it is sometimes, ready for business...ready to serve the good people of Treforest and beyond! Coffee...tea...cake...hot buttered toast...music!! 👍😎☕️☕️☕️☕️❤️

Good morning all.....beautiful late spring morning...but somewhat spoiled by the sad fact that Olive’s Attic was broken into last night. We will not be able to open today while police do their checks and repairs can be arranged. Fortunately, the damage is limited, but nonetheless problematic. I’ll let you all know of further developments. ☕️☕️😕

Who is that, seemingly standing on my shoulders? I’ll give you a clue. The picture was taken last Sunday, when regular customers will know, that I was away from my usual post of tending to their wants and needs at Olive’s Attic. Where did I go? And for what reason? A city at the very heart of England, where the remains of a medieval king, immortalised by Shakespeare, was found beneath a car park. Well that’s him...on my shoulders...clutching, not a tambourine, but the very crown of the English realm! This has got nothing whatsoever to do with all the delights on offer at The Attic this weekend, but I just thought I’d share the photograph with you all! We had a lovely evening at Olive’s Attic yesterday. Another ‘Open Mic ‘ session which filled the place with music, song and general conviviality!👍 Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us once again...thanks to Steve Shipman for running the night. The sun is shining this morning and I feel that our little corner of Treforest is particularly bathed in human warmth

This great painting and other colourful interesting stuff adorn our walls at The Attic....all make for for a great ambiance to enjoy your cappuccino/ latte/ Americano / flat white / mocha/ hot chocolate etc.

Hi all.....and so ends April. An interesting month...some great weather...some not so great...a couple of mornings I had to scrape frost off the car. Nothing wrong with frost I might add. I used to love frosty mornings when I was a paperboy in Treforest...back in the day...when all the papers were broadsheets., and they took a bit of serious folding to get them through the letter boxes. So, another month beckons...May! Another month another ‘Open Mic’ at Olive’s Attic. Slightly different this month....not the first Friday, but the second. Friday May 10th...a date for your diaries.! Come along and enjoy !

Hi All...another chance to see our re-vamped ‘Art Corner’ at Olive’s Attic, also, a gentle reminder that we re-open tomorrow- Tuesday- after the Easter break. Finished off the DIY tasks today with a coat or two of paint on the front....many thanks to Ieuan for the use of his ladders. Big thank you to Sue for her skills with the paint roller. Thanks also to all those passers by who took the trouble to say hello when they saw me outside sawing, sanding, painting or sweeping! 😎👍❤️

Well....there it is....the ‘Art Corner’ at Olive’s Attic...at last. Looking a bit more.. ...mmm...ehhh...arty? Hopefully. Hope you all like it when you see it. Need a week off now, to recover from this one! (Joking!..looking forward to reopening after Easter)👍😎☕️☕️

Things are changing in The Attic.... Here is a little foretaste. The ‘Art Corner ‘ is being transformed... ...hopefully for the better. Hope you all enjoy the Easter weekend .....see you all next week...by which time chocolate will have lost its appeal, and Cardiff City will be a step closer to Premiership safety!! 👍😎

Hello all....this shadowy figure is at a loss as to where he’s going to get his regular shot of coffee this week.... .....because The Attic is closed for redecoration and staff holidays. 😱 Let me reassure him and all our lovely customers, normal service will be resumed the day after Easter Monday. Yes...it is the Irish tricolour! Not a fire breathing mythical reptile, as you may expect after the fantastic achievement of the Welsh rugby team on the weekend. The reason being we are gearing up for this evening’s ‘Shamrocks and Shenanigans ‘ at The Attic. A fund raising event for one of our Irish customers, who is planning to work in an orphanage in Belarus this summer. She is having to fund herself, so she needs cash! Come and join in the fun...there will be fun, music, singing...and Irish Stew! (served with a hunk of Welsh bread and butter)....6.30 ish start.

Another week in the life of The Attic has drawn to a close. A week which has been a bit different...for the first time, the shop was open today without me being there !...thanks to Sue with the able support of joe, I was able to have a day off....wonderful! I spent part of the day walking Arty our energy filled border collie, taking in some of the local beauty spots....yes, we do have them! Anyone know where this cascading waterfall can be found? Exhilarating walk was had by dog and me...helping to recharge the batteries for the forthcoming week at The Attic. 👍❤️😎
