For the past 30 years Linda has worked on mixed media, semi-abstract paintings inspired by the landscape of Pembrokeshire. In the last 7 years she has begun exploring glass as a medium and have begun making conceptual pieces in response to historical and poetic stimulus as well as to landscape elements.

Linda first came to glass with a painter’s desire to move beyond paint. Since then she has become drawn to explore the myriad possibilities that glass offers as a medium to allow her to make work with a conceptual content, and work that moves in a poetic space between word and object.
Like her painting, her work with glass is very much underpinned by a fascination with the landscape, both as a visual and a metaphorical stimulus.

Working in glass opens up possibilities for collaborating with other artists. In 2012 she formed Studio Melyn, a creative partnership with Rachel Phillips and together they have completed a nuber of architectural glass commissions including for Conwy and Beaumaris Castles and Blewbury Church in Oxfordshire, they are currently working on a glass installation for Caernarfon Castel in North Wales.

In addition to developing her studio practise, Linda has extensive experience of working as a Community Artist with diverse groups of people. She is currently part time craft teach for young neurodiverse adults at a Ruskin Mill Trust College in Pembrokeshire.
