It was a nice sunny morning for litter picking in the village yesterday . Five volunteers joined Katie Piercy to pick up the litter dropped by what is probably a small number of inconsiderate people. The next Community Litter Pick will be held on Saturday March 9th and on that day it would be lovely to find that there is absolutely nothing to pick up . Thank you to this month's volunteers and thank you to Katie for organising the Litter Pick and taking this photograph.
Overton Public Toilets will be closed for refurbishment from 11th February 2019 for approximately 4 weeks.
The next Community Litter Pick is on this Saturday , February 2nd. We will be meeting outside the Corner Shop at 10am and will provide bags and litter picking tools . Please come and join us .
Did you know that for every unit of blood donated 3 lives are saved? This week's session at Bangor-on-Dee still has 50 available appointments meaning an additional 150 lives could be saved! If you're available please use the link to book an appointment and come along to donate. Thank you. http:/bit.ly/2FWz9RY

Brrrrr..... a chilly, snowy start to the day but it’s ‘picture perfect’ for a Seasonal photo of Overton! The Overton on Dee Community Growers are looking for seasonal photos of flora, fauna, the Village and local landmarks/events in readiness for their 2020 Calendar. Please take any photos in the largest digital format possible as these give the best resolution for printing. Send your photos to daveroberts100@aol.com Good luck everyone!
Always an enjoyable event.
Community Litter Picks will be taking place on the following Saturdays :- February 2nd, March 9th, April 6th, May 11th, and June 1st. If you would like to join in with tidying up the village please meet us outside the Corner Shop on any of these dates. Litter picking tools and bags will be provided. However never forget that litter should not be dropped in the first place. Litter should be taken home and recycled appropriately .
