QUADROPHENIA the album – LIVE!
Friday 12th October, 2018 @ 7:30pm
£22 concessions £1.50 off (f)
... Produced by Concept Concerts this production, acclaimed by a Sunday Times journalist as “Mighty, moving and unstoppable,” sees 8-piece band, The Goldhawks, deliver a stunning live performance of The Who’s smash hit concept album, Quadrophenia. From the very first show it has received standing ovations.
Released over 40 years ago in October 1973, The Who’s second rock opera ‘Quadrophenia’ was Pete Townshend’s homage to a piv-otal moment in British youth culture. The album tells the story of Jimmy, a Mod, by chronicling his dissatisfaction with life, work, love, home, and family life. It served as an ode to teenage angst and counterculture rebellion, as well as a criticism of the British class, economic and educational systems but you don’t need to be clued up on the history of the Mods and Rockers to enjoy this show because at its core, Quadrophenia, which peaked at No. 2 on the UK and USA charts, is just about teenage confusion, conflict and frustration.
Backed with exciting, and sometimes heart-wrenching, large-screen projection of archival footage, the emotions, tension and raw power that the music demands is delivered masterfully by the fabulous, charismatic band, The Goldhawks, with amazing replication of The Who’s sound.
To send you home on an even bigger high there are a few all-time classic Who hits to close the show!

We are so lucky to have such a fantastic theatre on our doorstep. Sleeping Beauty Panto 2018, is a credit to the theatre technical crew, a visually stunning production with great effects and slick cues :)

Watched legally blonde last night, what an incredible fantastic show!!!! High energy from the off and every single cast member was amazing!! Laughed all the way through and thought it was the best show I've seen in a long time! Would definitely go and see it again!!! Thank you for putting on a first class show!

Sleeping beauty... great afternoon we’ve been going there for the last 10 years now. Shame we’ve moved away now so the last one for us! Sean Jones (Billy) just gets better every year amazing performance yet again 5

Saw Fame The Musical to a packed house on 24th August 2017. Great production, great cast with some wonderful individual performances and dancing and it's the first time they played with a fantastic live band as well. Standing ovation at the nod and well deserved.

Just been to Mrs Browns boys and haven't laughed so much in ages. We were up in the gods but still had an excellent view. The theatre was perfect in size and very easy to find, being on the sea front.

It's the first time we have been to the Pavillion Theatre ..

We had a fantastic time dancing to 70s hits from the Real Thing, Odyssey and Heatwave.

The groups put on a fabulous performance.

The theatre itself is well laid out and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We will certainly be going back there.

Been to see chubby tonight loved it,, but what made the night was the staff for dealing with the low life's who tried to ruin it for us fans ..give yourselves a pat on the back 😆😆

BLOOD BROTHERS this evening! OUTSTANDING! Totally blew me away! Thank you so much Rhyl pavilion for bringing us some incredible shows

User

Another fabulous performance of Blood Brothers at our wonderful local theatre

Went to see Mrs Brown's Boys sat in row Q centre location for the stage which was really good. The only issue I had was the men in the sound and light box next to us kept talking all the way through the show and banging the little door. I understand they had to communicate back stage but it was so annoying when you were trying to listen to what was happening on the stage. Maybe a glass booth would be better there

User

Went to see George Ezra - he was brilliant but we were sat next to a couple of younger fans who were overly excited and stood up dancing, squealing and bumping into me which I can understand but it spoilt the view for those behind them and got a bit irritating. Would be good if there was an area for people who wanted to stand and dance. With the work being done at the theatre is there any scope for this? Staff were all very attentive and helpful.

I will admit, I've never seen a BAD show here, BUT they're always so poorly attended!

Most shows we've seen generally have about 50% "bums on seats"!

A friend who runs a group refuses to return, simply because they played to half a house, primarily due to poor advertising!

None of this will prevent us from returning, indeed we're booked to see 3 more shows and the Panto (last year's Peter Pan was superb).
