Due to the dry conditions at Pembrey Country Park we would like to remind visitors that they should not have BBQs at the Park and Beach due to the fire risk associated. We would like everyone to enjoy the park and welcome you to bring a picnic but dont forget to dispose of your rubbish. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

User

We’ve had a small fire in the park today after a barbecue got out of control and set fire to some trees. Fire is now out thanks to the swift response of the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Thanks to campers and visitors for their patience whilst we got things under control. PLEASE be careful as ground conditions are very dry. Here’s some advice... http://newsroom.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/†¦/barbecue-advice-…/…

Yet another lovely couple of days away here. Staff here are great especially steve and his wife who are very helpful and get things done. its been lively and bouncing as always and the kids love the great outdoors here. Lots of new things coming to the site over the next year which will make it even better ☺☺☺

User

What a fantastic place, got to be 1 of my favourite places ever. The staff around the campsite are superb and the setting is amazing. It's great to see a lot of investment going into the campsite, this is only going to make the experience better Can't wait to go back later in the year.

User

We have stayed here on the camp site for the 5 days. The staff that we have met have been helpful ,friendly and informative .The area is beautiful with both wooded areas and the amazing long beach .We have 2 dogs ,they have enjoyed the long walks through the woods and on the beach .The weekend has been busy with lots of families coming ,this is a great place for children with lots to see and do ..Will definitely come here again .

User

I was there on an organised fun ride (horse ride) absolutely amazing trails and Access to ride on the beach. But unfortunately our horse's found the incline to the beach too steap and refused to go down. But the forest trails are out of this world and we left with the biggest grins on our faces!! Absolute horse riders heaven. But would love to know if we could Access the forest trails and beach at any time not just on organised rides?? Any info would be much appreciated.

User

Had a fantastic few days. Facilities prestine and showers lovely and warm. Staff very friendly and helpful.

User

Great place to visit with one of the best beeches we have visited in the UK. Loads of parking, cafes and walks both on the beech and in the woods. Will be recommending it to friends. We will visit again when next in the area.

User

Fab place for all ages. Beaches, cycling and walking trails, train rides, kids playgrounds, dry ski slopes, Camping rough or ehu with caravan club site also. Just an awesome place to visit

User

Beautiful country park setting a few minutes walk to the most stunning beaches the uk is proud to boast. The site us run very professionally. We were greeted by the sentry who notified by radio the booking office that we were approaching,we booked in and the receptionist notified the warden to meet us and escorted us to our pitch. Super slick. The loos and showers were clean. The showers are a bit carry on camping as you have to leave your clothing in the communal area as there is no room to keep them dry in the tiny cubicles. However, the beauty of the area, the professionalism of the resort and the really super friendly accommodating smiley wardens make you want to return.

User

Amazing place and plenty to do. Right alongside cycle route 4 to which was handy. Would like to come back again and again. Weather was on my side too. Perfect day.

User

A great family day out for all! Plenty to keep everyone entertained, especially when the sun’s out & when there’s an organised event going on! Loved our day out & intend on visiting again soon in the near future. Keep up the good work 😎

User

Lovely park amazing beach could be 5 stars but 6 toilets and 6 showers and 2 washing up sinks for 300 people plus is not great and did spoil it when your child wets themselves because they had to que 40 mins for the toilet!!!! So disappointing i spoke to 60 odd people over the 4 days whilst queuing for the showers and toliet and everyone said lovely park but spoilt by the terrible facilities shame as the sote and beach is amazing, lets hope you take this on board and supply the basics in adequate amounts

User

Lovely place but I have to say that the toilets are absolutely disgusting and there are clearly not enough of them for the amount of visitors that were there.

User

Had a great family day out as we do every bank holiday but the toilets were degrading no flush working urine all over the floor as was last bank holiday :( everyone paying £5 each to get in hundreds off ppl there on the day and throughout the year im sure the toilets could be sorted and a few more added as thats the only bit letting the park down :(

User

Beautiful walks lovely site ...suutabke for all ages great for kids ...

Downside ... toilets and showers not so good .. not many of them and half of them out of order ...

User

Beautiful beach, we came down for the day with the dog and both my husband and daughter are disabled. There was no sign on beach provided, which would advise us of where dogs were allowed and we unfortunately went left instead of right and although the ranger was nice about it got told off as we were about 5 metres into the territory where dogs were not allowed. Now onto disabled access no signage whatsoever about which way would be best if you had difficulty walking, and it seems like no disabled person should own a dog we had to go via the dog friendly route which ended in me carrying everything as well as holding the dog and trying to help both husband and daughter over the biggest sandune you have ever seen. When it came time to leave I had to carry all the stuff and the dog back over humungeous sandune (by this time I was shattered so it seemed bigger) whilst husband and child headed off down the beach into dog ban area to find easier route off. It was a beautiful beach and once we were on it enjoyed our day however one of my friends who is also disabled asked if they could get on it with their dogs and I had to tell them a definite no which is a shame.

User

Awful campsite, beautiful setting. Camping experience ruined because the three portaloos provided for campers were utterly vile and with dodgy locks meant you run the risk of being trapped in them every visit. The website boasted a new amenity block. This was at the campsite entrance, helpful for caravans way too far to walk for campers. The showers were dirty and again at the site entrance. Two sinks and one drainer (for entire site) meant after making the long walk with your washing up you then had a half hour wait to use them. Hoards of unsupervised children in and out of toilets and wreaking havoc in the adventure playground also spoiled our experience. The 8am start on building work on what will be a new amenity block for tent fields was a rude awakening, particularly as the music playing and screaming children went on well into the night. I just hope when the new block is built its cleaned to much higher standard than at present. Such a massive shame because the park really was beautiful (though we've all returned covered in insect bites) and the beach was great.

User

Would not allow me a pitch for the night as my van does not classify as a motor home. Happy to pay motorhome price but wouldn’t have it. If they ever answered their phone I would have known this before driving two hours to get there.

Conclusion: Classist pigs who don’t want working class scum like myself ruining their view with an old white van.

Nothing open but no warning of this. Visitors centre had no leaflets with walks etc. Still had to pay £5 for the privilege of parking there!

Yet another lovely couple of days away here. Staff here are great especially steve and his wife who are very helpful and get things done. its been lively and bouncing as always and the kids love the great outdoors here. Lots of new things coming to the site over the next year which will make it even better ☺☺☺

What a fantastic place, got to be 1 of my favourite places ever. The staff around the campsite are superb and the setting is amazing. It's great to see a lot of investment going into the campsite, this is only going to make the experience better Can't wait to go back later in the year.

Would not allow me a pitch for the night as my van does not classify as a motor home. Happy to pay motorhome price but wouldn’t have it. If they ever answered their phone I would have known this before driving two hours to get there.
