UPDATE FROM PEMBROKESHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
A spokesman for the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society has confirmed that eight people were injured this afternoon (Wednesday, 15th August) in an incident involving an escaped horse.
A horse taking part in a competition - on the second day of the Pembrokeshire Show - threw its rider and jumped a fence into the crowd. As a result there were eight casualties.
... Five people were taken to hospital including a 12-year-old boy and an 83-year-male. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Medical crews on duty at the Withybush showground helped treat the injured along with other members of the emergency services. An Air Ambulance attended the scene but was not required.
The Chairman of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s Trustees, Mr Mike Davies, said: “At the moment our thoughts are with those who were injured"
“We also want to thank the emergency services who were on the scene very quickly and assisted the injured.”
He said there would be a full review into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

If anyone has found a purse on the Showground, we would be very grateful if it could be handed in to the Show Office. It has an item of sentimental value which is more important than anything else.
Thank you in advance of your help.

User

Wonderful three days and organisation excellent - thank you from all the team at PembrokeshireLifeOnline - lots of features, videos and TV to follow

User

Wonderful day! I loved all the up close and personal with so many different animals. Fantastic displays and so many staff available to ask information from. Was with you from 8am - 4pm but still didn't cover everything! Great value for money and although mine are grown up it's a childrens' paradise! Yummy food stalls too! See you next year

User

We went to the show on yesterday and had a brilliant time. Toilets I found were clean and tidy all day.

The only bit I would criticise is the baby changing facilities - not enough space in the main toilet to actually bring the pram in and the room designated for baby changing didn't even have a table in there to use :(

Lovely day and also at a reasonable cost (compared to other shows of similar quality) :)

We will definitely be going back

User

We have been so looked after all the ground staff have been fantastic ....I had a small problem with the roof on my stables but the show canlt control the rain but I found out this morning that my ponies were checked at 1am to see thay were safe how fantastic was that thank you all.... we just have to get off the hill that we are parked on tomrrow

User

We had an amazing day today at the Pembrokeshire County Show! There was so much to do and see and we loved the cows especially!! We were disappointed the Bulldog FMX Riders were cancelled but the ground conditions couldn't be helped. My children didn't want to leave and that was after a 9.30am - 6.20pm day. Can't wait to do it all again next year

User

The show was a success for us this year again. It is a very well run event with a lot to see and do.

User

Thank you to all the lads going back and forth with straw to help keep my stall, JodhpursRus, going. You are all amazing and went above and beyond to help us. No one can control the rain!!! THANK YOU AND SEE YOU IN 2018. XX

User

User

Had a lovely day yesterday at the show and had fab weather too. My son and I loved the bolddog team and they was amazing and very talented. In all an amazing day and my son really enjoyed which was the main thing.

User

Had a fab day with family and friends. To top it off a Mobiloo was there so I was able to change my disabled son on a proper changing table. Absolute life saver. Thank you!

User

Had a fab day out at the Show today. So much to see and do. Loads of gorgeous animals and we didn't queue at all to get in which was a bonus. Lots of interesting stands and plenty of yummy food too - a great day out

User

Great event! Looking forward to the next show!

User

Great day out (or three) with loads to see especially for children

User

First time ever at the county show this year and it was brilliant wil definitely be going again next year. A really good day out :)

User

Fantastic show every years!!!

User

Considering the show is on a disused airfield, they've got very good disabled facilities. We were vey impressed with the changing table that had a hoist.

User

Brilliant event. Lots to do & well catered for.

User

Brilliant day out , lots to see and do

User

At the dog show amazing results with the dog's over the last 3 days.

User

As a local company, Castle hot tubs have had a stand at the show for many years. It really is the highlight in our yearly calendar! Mandy is a real star and ensures that we are well looked after. Thank you all for your hard work

User

I would thoroughly recommend a day out at the Pembs show. Very organised , parking was so good . Very friendly and helpful .

User

I went yesturday with a very young baby we asked could we park closer as needed to come to car to breast feed if I did not find anywhere suitable. We were told no. It was after 1pm when we arrived. As we walked down to show they were loads of free parking spaces. As we were parked along way from entrance. And I found it difficult to find changing areas for the baby. Other wise fab day.

User

Food in the show ground on the expensive side.

User

Been going for a few years for the dog show which is very well run. If I wasn't entering as an exhibitor I wouldn't pay £19 to go tbh, it is a big show but I don't feel it warrants that sort of cost to go in, there were a lot of trade stands same sort of things you find at most shows, takes quite a long time to get around the show, it is big. Limited places to buy food and drinks, very expensive and fine if you want to eat greasy chips and burgers, they were not nice. Really need a better variety of food on offer to make a long day enjoyable, maybe that could be looked at for future shows?. Lots to see in the arenas, surprised how quiet the show was this year, maybe the cost prohibited people going? Friends were camping for agility and had very poor facilities, felt rather sorry for them covered in mud (pity about the weather) not really set up for campers with tents being able to clean up. Walkways were great, mostly hard surface so although it had been very wet we weren't too muddy, so it's ok for pushchairs etc. Organisers obviously work very hard to get this show running smoothly so hats off to them. It's a great show and even better when the sun is shining 😊

User

A great day out for the family full of fun lots of things to see well worth the money

User

The food is really expensive which was the main downfall of it and the entry is ridiculous money you can pay at least £20 to go for a week never mind for the whole day but other than that the rides were good at the fair lots of things to see.

User

My family and I had a good day out at the show today. Car parking was fine. And it was quite quick to get in. But I will say I took my daughter to the toilet by were the members bar was and was very disappointed how disgusting the ladies toilets were. They were not clean at all. Smelly and just stinking so felt that I could not let my daughter use them so we went else where other than that it's been a good day out

User

It was ok for a change of scenery. Lots of stands missing. No titan the robot or monster trucks. Not worth the entry price anymore. Toys etc very overpriced by the toy stalls and food was a rip off, £8 for a pizza. Nowhere as good as the show was years ago. You could see that the numbers were down by alot.

User

It was a good day out as My son enjoyed but the prices were ridiculous. The toilets were so dirty and smelly. The truck show in carmarthen puts this to shame and less than half of the price. My friend told me this year's was very poor in terms of stalls no robot or monster truck. What a shame.

Probably won't be going again.

User

Had a good day yesterday but unfortunately I bought 2 sausage rolls for my 2 & 1 year olds from the food hall costing £2.50 each! Was just about to give one to them and noticed something on the actual sausage, opened it up and it was green from mold! Disgusted! To think that yesterday they ate the other one.

User

Food and drinks very expensive, the show is getting smaller and smaller each year

User

A good show. A lot smaller than the Royal Welsh show but still a good day out for all.

User

We went on Wednesday. Was a bit disappointed no titan, no monster trucks, not as many stalls as last year. We couldn't find the family free zone, no signposts, too many over priced fair rides! And the young girl on the western telegraph stand was very rude and upset my 2 year old! Couldn't find the falconry only saw their posters advertising!

I suggest more sign posts more stalls and more attractions.

User

We came really to see the Award of a cup donated in my fathers name in the horticultural section .

We wanted to pack on the hard standing rather than the grass .. but apparently this was for disabled drivers only ???

Entry was was very disorganised ... we had already booked online but we're told to queue with everyone else .

Disappointed to get nothing in terms of a map or programme of events ... realised much later that programmes were for sale .

So we were unsure of where to go and when .

Having been previously we knew there were food offerings etc but seemed to be less "shops" than in previous years .

There were a variety of toilet blocks , but all that we used did smell , didn't see any cleaning taking place !

Enjoyed the presentations but am sorry we would not rush back at those prices again .

User

Been going for years ,went yesterday the 16th ,not as enjoyable as usual ,lack of stalls ,the crafts tents were half empty and less of them ,quite a few empty stalls by the food department ,I'm normally there till about 6pm ,I left yesterday at 3.30 ,not value of money anymore ,will think twice about going next year .
