Pen Cob

Great atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. As an artist I love the very special paintings and photographs displayed at the Pen Cob

The breakfast was good and the faculties were clean, but it lacked the old world charm of a building that is 100 years old. As I wrote, "it was clean, modern and the food was good . . . not great . . . but good. It seemed trendy, and I go to Wales to step back in time and reflect.

For someone else it might be rated "5-stars" but for me it is only "3-stars".

Great service, good pub food. Problem is they're too popular and can be hard to find somewhere to sit. But even when packed the food doesn't take long to arrive.

Great food! Very busy! Excellent value and friendly staff. Wetherspoons is one of the countries well known pub grub formats that I enjoy. It's cheap but good quality.

Fantastic food! Other half and I were staying in the area and the lamb shank or mixed grill are highly recommended! Meat fell off the bone and all the mix grill was cooked to perfection. Would 100% recommend

Great value pub. Good place for families to eat. It can be a little noisy though. Would definitely come again

It did not bother us but it was very busy. The lady's behind the bar where handling it very well, they where going at a good pace without the costomers feeling rushed and uncomfortable. However there was a gentleman behind the bar who was being very disrespectful to other members of staff which made myself and others uncomftable. Also the way he was talking to costomers was disgraceful, huffing if they weren't ordering fast enough. He was also trying to things at a speed that was dangerous. At one point he almost smashed a glass and one of the ladies said behind the bar "slow down john". I feel his attitude spoilt the atmosphere as we were sat near the bar and although it was busy he was the only one who was reacting like this.

Lovely mixed grill and great atmosphere, Great selection of beers. Was even offered to try a beer I hadn't tried before which was a nice touch. Be back again next year for sure....

Went in a couple of times. Can't knock Wetherspoons for their pricing. The bar staff, however, were neither friendly nor polite, mostly seeming eager to get back to chatting with the regulars. The waiting staff seemed better but we didn't order food so can't really comment.
