Easy gradual walk to the summit with great views. Even better is the cheap burger van when you get back down that also serves ice cream 👌.
Free parking, minivans with ice creams or hot dogs. Very nice path, if you have a mountain bike you could cycle on it really. And of course, amazing views! Beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed it.
Stunning place for a run or walk and some great bodies of water for a quick dip
Parking here is free and here is a waterfall nearby if you want to cool off! If the parking lot in front of the storey arms is full, this one might save you!
It's a challenge that seems easier when imagining than in reality. But when you get to the top the views are breathtaking. It's quite humbling to witness the power of mother nature. Only criticism is that it's become so popular that unless you start off VERY EARLY you won't get a parking space and no point risking parking on the grass verges of the A470 as the police will definitely book you.
Beautiful scenery, a challenging walk but gives a great sense of achievement when reaching the summit.
We walked Pen-y-fan at 5.30am on a snow day hoping to get a wonderful sunrise shot. Unfortunately for us the top of Pen-y-fan was actually a blizzard and we had to follow small orange flags placed as markers to keep to the path. It was a great experience although I'd advise anyone attempting this to have the correct equipment (layers are essential) and a very good level of fitness. If going up without snow a general level of fitness is fine. Had a great time and will go again.
One a clear day it's an easy walk, on a misty/wet/ icey day it's a challenge and should not be underestimated!
Great walk. Stunning views and a friendly atmosphere where most walkers greet you as you pass. Great burger van but an increase in parking capacity is greatly needed.
