Penrhyn Tool Hire was founded in 1982 by four friends who sought to put the lending of their D. I. Y. equipment onto a more commercial basis. The 'Tool Hire' as it became locally known, commenced trading from a double garage before relocating 12 months later to a large building formerly utilised as a builder's merchants. Further expansion occurred with the opening of a satellite depot in Pwllheli in 1989. The company enjoyed continued growth, resulting in yet another move to its existing custom built premises in the Griffin Industrial Estate, Penrhyndeudraeth in 1992, from where it continues to provide its customers with a friendly and efficient service based on the well-founded and proven principle of supplying 'the right equipment for the right job at the right price.
