Two vacancies have occurred for parent governors for your child’s school and you are invited to submit a nomination for the post of parent governor. Any parent of a registered pupil at the school, at the time of the election, is eligible to be a parent governor and to hold office for four years even though your child may leave the school in the meantime. Please see the attached letter for full details and a nomination form. http://penyrheol-comp.net/…/letter-to-p arents-election-of-p…

Dear Parents and Pupils We have undertaken a full review of our school uniform this year in consultation with pupils, staff, parents and governors. Some elements are remaining the same and others are changing. One change that has been brought in early is the introduction of shorts as an option for the Summer Term only. Many parents and pupils have taken up this option. [ 207 more words ] http://penyrheol-comp.net/…/school-unif orm-from-september-2…

Second only to clean drinking water, vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect the public against a variety of infectious diseases. The World Health Organisation estimates that 3 million lives are saved every year worldwide through immunisation. The vaccination programmes detailed below are offered in school by the School Nursing Service who will provide information to you prior to the programme being delivered, along with a consent form that will need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the school. The whole uniform issue is a complete joke. Families struggle to make ends meet as it is. Uniform is expensive, especially if there are siblings. To up the cost by adding the need for logo trousers is a complete joke. There are children in this world that get no education. It should not be a priviledge. Hopefully they see sense and get rid of this crazy rule and allow children to be educated.

If you go to Scandinavia, there are no uniform rules. School is casual. Guess what? The education and performance of children far exceeds that of the UK.

Make the uniform as cheap as possible for families and as basic as possible. This allows families to buy it at a budget from supermarkets/department stores and not a few cherry-picked stores!
