Hope you’re not too sore this morning!! Please can you pass on this email to everyone involved with the Leadership walk last week for me.
I just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of The Osborne Trust to everyone involved with the Leadership Walk last week. In the 3 days you were walking, we had 3 new referrals in from local families with 10 children between them needing our support. Also we were contacted by a family we have been supporting for the last 3 years where Mum has a terminal diagnosis, to say she was now in hospital receiving palliative care and could we support her and her 2 sons aged & 8. Additionally we heard that another Mum whose children we were supporting had passed away.
The money you have raised will ensure that we can support many more families like those above when a Mum/Dad has a cancer diagnosis and their children need support. Your money will give these children some time away from seeing Mum/Dad ill and enjoy a film at the cinema, some food with friends or bounce away on a trampoline for an hour to just forget for a little while. Your money ensures that Ozzy can be sent for comfort to the younger children at bed time and a journal for the older journal to have a tool to express what they are feeling. Please let your supporters know what the money they gave will be used for and that together you have ensured another 16 local families can access help and support for their children during a parents cancer treatment
You should all be very proud of yourselves, as my husband pointed out to me on the drive home, you basically did 3 marathon distances in 3 days!! (I’ve heard bath salts helps the aches and pains).
