Following lengthy discussions, Phoenix are extremely pleased to announce the acquisition of Orion Photonics Ltd.
The share sale was completed on 9th Feb for an undisclosed sum and the Phoenix team are delighted to welcome Orion on board as it continues to expand its capabilities.
This new alliance offers complementary technologies to its customers that deliver cost effective solutions to its targeted sectors within the photonics market place.

The introduction of Orion to the Phoenix team now allows the business to provide high performance products utilising the latest Thin Film capabilities that provide high quality display coatings, laser protection filters as well as high efficiency mirror and anti-reflection coatings for both defence and commercial application.
The two companies remain aligned in continued investment in developing further its capabilities through working closely with its customers to deliver effective technical solutions.

We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Manager and are seeking a dynamic, confident, person who is looking to develop their career in a challenging role within our successful, growing business.
The ideal candidate should be highly organised ,have good interpersonal skills and be a clear logical thinker with a bold attitude. They should also possess excellent communication, mathematical and presentation skills and be conversant with all Microsoft Packages.
The role will i...nvolve effectively interacting with production to maintain product supply and managing a team of Quality Inspectors.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining/developing effective quality control processes, monitoring and analysing performance and producing statistical reports.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for, handling matters associated with ISO9001 Accreditation, be familiar with the transistion requirements to ISO9001:2015 and assist an external assessor twice yearly with ISO audits.They should be able to demonstrate an ability to act as Lead Auditor and manage / conduct internal audits and external audits of both Suppliers and Customers.
The Quality Manager must have an ability to conduct, First Article Inspections and/or Production Readiness reviews and also use problem solving techniques such as PFMECA, 8D/DMAIC principles. Ideally be familiar with Obsolescence, Business Continuity Plans, Corporate Social Accountability, REACH, RoHS and Counterfeit Programs.
Some UK and Foreign travel will be involved. Must hold a full, clean, valid driving licence and a UK passport.
Futher education may be available for career progression.

Phoenix will be exhiting our Armourdillo Toughened Glass at this years DSEI show held at the Excel Arena in London 12th - 15th September.

This video was put together by one of our staff members to show what we do on a daily basis. We make very high quality optics going into defense, commercial and space applications.
