Picton Castle & Gardens

Very welcoming, dogs were offered a biscuit on arrival! Only slight improvement would be food offerings in the cafe - an alternative to Tapas would be good.
The secret owl garden even offers a doggie sitting service while you look round.

Beautiful castle and gardens but be aware separate charge for each and additional charge for the new secret owl garden (though good value overall). Beautiful walks, plenty for kids to do including the 'boardwalk' maze, and bouldering wall.
Walled garden with pond is beautiful.
Newly opened secret owl garden is great for all the family - meet the huge range of owls and if you time it right you may get to hold one.
Spanish style rustic cafe serves delicious food (snacks and full meals), gift shop, and a quirky vintage lawnmower collection!

Initial shock at charge each section! £7 walking around gardens/woods. £3 owl centre in the grounds. £3 castle tour. We're told owl centre the dogs would be cared for so we could go round centre.. Turned out that we could tie our dogs to a post but no one there to look after them. Not a good idea. Made a suggestion that a shed with crates would be better. So I didn't get to see owls and reimbursement not offered. Castle tour guide fabulous but only taken into a few rooms. £7 for walks in very unkempt woods very expensive. Cafe and food fantastic! 😁

This wonderful castle stands within beautiful grounds; that vary from woodlands to exotic walled gardens.
The castle recently become home to a number of owls and they have frequent showings of the owls and the possibility for group events.
The guided tours of the castle are interesting and informative.
The best time to visit, and to get the most out of your time here, is in a sunny day.

Beautiful peaceful gardens that are well maintained. There's lots to see and a lot of the plants are labelled too. We didn't go into the castle but it's beautiful to look at from the outside. The secret owl garden is also well worth a visit.
