New Attraction Coming Summer 2019 A new and exciting tourist attraction will be rolling out in Saundersfoot this coming summer.
The village will be welcoming its own Heritage Land Train, which will help keep alive the rich coal-mining history of Saundersfoot,.
... The train will travel from the harbour around the village and on to the Coppet Hall beach centre.
It will be named The Rosalind, in tribute to the last train to carry miners and coal to and from the harbour.
Passengers will be able to enjoy an audio commentary about the coal heritage of the area, along with some scenic views, as they take their seats for the 30-minute ride.
The pilot project has been made possible by the Saundersfoot Village Working Party (SVWP), made up of representatives from the village’s community council, harbour, Chamber for Tourism and Hean Castle Estates.
The group successfully applied for a grant from Planed, and has entered into a partnership with Edwards Coaches, who will be operating the service.
The Rosalind takes to the road at the end of May, from when it will run at weekends until September, and every day during school holidays. It will be signposted by the image of young coal miner Tomos, who is the figurehead of the Saundersfoot Heritage Trail.
The aim of the initiative is to improve and enhance knowledge of local history and to support and encourage tourism in Saundersfoot Bay by creating links and promoting the heritage of the communities of Saundersfoot, Wiseman’s Bridge and Amroth.
Said Councillor Sue Boughton-Thomas, who leads the SVWP: “If it is successful, it is envisaged that the route could be extended, and make all areas of the Bay and its history more accessible”. We had the most wonderful week at Pinewood holiday park. It's situated in a beautiful, quiet area, but still close enough to everything around it. The owners were kind and welcoming and answered all our questions with ease. We can't wait to go back.

Just back from a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Pinewood b&b. Such a fantastic place in an ideal quiet location. Nicky and Simon are brilliant hosts, they made us feel very welcome and at home. The breakfasts are amazing!! Even my husband who is very fussy eater thought the food was amazing! It was our first visit to Wales and we will certainly be going back! Thank you so much Nicky and Simon. See you next year! Xx
