Pitter Patter Day Nursery & One Step Holiday Club- Llanidloes Description

Pitter Patter is a Day Nursery set in Llanidloes, a rural location on the outskirts of Newtown. We aim to provide a homely, loving and nurturing environment where each child is encouraged to develop his or her full potential. The Nursery is owned by Amy Parrotte. Amy has a BETC National Diploma in Early Years and has developed this by completing a degree in Childhood Studies. Amy is present in the Nursery from Monday to Friday where she is actively involved in all aspects of the Nursery’s operation. Amy is supported by Kerrie Benton, Nursery Deputy Manager. Kerrie is qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Early Years and has over 10 years childcare experience in Nurseries.
We are registered to care for 19 children, aged between three months to when they start full time school. We also run and after school club (one step) and holiday club for children aged 4-6 years. The Nursery is open 52 weeks out of the year, we close for Bank Holidays with reduced hours over the Christmas period. We open at 8am and close at 5. 45pm from Monday to Friday.

Activity of the week; Linda has been busy with her children making junk model boats..... will yours sink or float?

Weekly activity, milk carton Elephant or Elmer.
If you dont have any felt or paper at home you can use an old magazine, newspaper paint or pens. Cut the top off the empty milk carton and turn upside down you can see his big trunk. We would love to see your elephant creations please post below.

The staff at Pitter Patter will be posting a story or activity twice a week. We thought this would be a nice idea so your children can still see familiar faces and you can choose activities to do with your children at home. We miss everyone terribly already, so feel free to tag us or share any videos or photos of your little ones 😍
Today storytime is with Laura from our pre-school room 🤗

Following this evenings advice, please only travel or bring your child to nursery if essential and there is a need for us to provide childcare.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are not bringing your child to nursery so we can avoid staff travelling unnecessarily.

Attention: please follow the advise below where possible with regards to critical workers so we are able to offer places to those who really need us.
A list of categories of critical workers has been published on the Welsh Government website.
Places in schools and childcare will be highly limited and only particularly vulnerable children and the children of critical workers whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response should be attending during this time.
... If you are classed as a critical worker but are able to perform the critical parts of your job effectively when working from home, then you should do so.
Even for critical workers, provision will only be made in schools or other settings where there is no safe alternative for your family.
I’m a key worker but my partner isn’t. What should we do? If one parent is a critical worker but the other parent is not then the other parent should provide safe alternative arrangements at home when possible.

This week in the Tootsie room we have been making mother's Day cards and gifts using pictures of the children holding flowers. We have been trying to complete lots of different puzzles of varying difficulties and playing matching games. We have enjoyed building with Duplo blocks and making 3D shapes with magnetic shapes.

We have been making chocolate orange truffles for mother's day. We have been enjoying outdoor play, mark making using water and paintbrushes, roleplaying in the kitchen and playing on the bikes. We have been playing with balloons this week as it was one of our babies birthday!🥳 We have been exploring our senses in moonsand.

This week we have been enjoying making cards for mother's Day. Some of us were able to write our own names inside the cards or attempt to. We have loved getting creative outside mark making with water and practising our balancing skills.

I cannot thank my amazing staff enough for all they are doing at the moment during these uncertain times. Not only continuing with the amazing care they give your children but supporting myself and each other. 💪🥰❤

As it currently stands we have just been informed that it is expectation of Welsh Government that all early years and child-care settings continue to be open. Nursery WILL be open as normal for all children who need childcare. Please let us know if you require holiday club provision during this time.
Sorry for any confusion caused
