Over 30 Gins to choose from at The Ponsonby Arms! Our mid week Gin offer Tuesday to Thursday Get your tonic free when you buy any double gin.

We are looking for staff to work the bar, we are mainly looking for Saturday lunch times from 12pm to 6pm, however there may be other shifts.

This lovely event happens every Sunday around now and is perfectly suited for a relaxing few hours to wind down and get ready for another week. Come along to our cosy pub and enjoy our fine collection of gins, cask ales, beligan beers, whisky and acoustic jam!

A gathering of local and visiting musicians sit in a circle and take turns to play, others join in if they know the tune or jam. People welcomed to sample the cask ale, relax and listen to the music in our cosy atmosphere. All styles of music and instruments are enjoyed, however it's mainly folk music, traditional music and all acoustic. Well behaved dogs and children are welcome, games are available.

We are looking for mature bar staff for both the Sun Inn and the Ponsonby Arms. Ideal candidates should have a keen interest in cask ale, able to work using their own initiative and an excellent communicator. Please apply in person at The Ponsonby Arms, week days after 5, except Mondays.

Anyone who’s been to or past the Ponsonby over the last few weeks might notice work going on. I’m currently stripping gloss paint off the front around the door. This has rendered the render unbreathable! Which is why the paint has been peeling off with the damp. The front porch is being renovated and the front painting spruced up.
Meanwhile indoors Paul has been attaching new dado rail, sanding ready for painting. He’s looking to the bar floor next.

A collective of local musicians playing folk music to entertain the visitors & locals and invite new talent and visiting talent to join in. Traditional folk club style, everyone takes turns and others join in. Lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Yearly Christmas Quiz special in aid of Wales Air Ambulance. We'll be serving pea and ham hock soup and home made bread with Welsh butter. 10 Cask ales on tap and plenty of other things that take your fancy. Please bring deep pockets and give generously to this fantastic cause.

We'll be open from 5pm this week, and will be closed for food service until Next Tuesday. We resume normal opening hours Friday at 12pm.

!! Hospitality STAFF WANTED !! The challenges and complications involved with growing a new business make success a near impossibility. The kitchens we've just opened at The Ponsonby are a glowing example! It's been a huge financial outlay. We're paying staff when sometimes we don't need them and sometimes have too few staff when we could really do with some more! What really throws a spanner in the works is when staff agree to work and for whatever reason, they don't show up.... If we were an established business, loosing 1 in 8 members of staff for a busy shift might be tough. But for us loosing 1 in 2 or 3 means you simply have to turn away trade, which is what we've had to do on three occasions in the last two weeks. With this in mind we need more staff! Good, experienced staff who are 100% committed to the shifts they are given. We need a pool of staff who are experienced and capable of working in a variety of roles from cooking & preparing food, waiting on, serving behind the bar and cleaning. We are looking for staff who are open for last minute phone calls to be back up in the event it suddenly gets busy or if other staff let us down, with a view to getting a scheduled post with our growing team at The Sun Inn and Ponsonby Arms in Llangollen. If you've not tried the Ponsonby lately, we've been hard at work decorating so things have changed. So tonight might be the perfect excuse to try us out again! Hoppy hour starts at 6pm for an hour and means a £1 off every pint of ale.
Gerry Goode is also performing so if you enjoy a bit of a knees up and a good old pub sing song, all the popular stuff people know and love!
Then there's the cheese, bread, pate and pickles on offer, no official charge, just an honesty pot, we ask a £1 or as much as you feel it's worth. All welcome !

The new menu is great I've tried most of the meals as I'm there on Saturdays,great customers really friendly people come to visit there and I feel I have made some good new friends ,well done .

Really friendly staff with excellent service.

Lovely polite lad behind the bar, made us feel very welcome. Sat in the garden area yesterday and thouroughly enjoyed my afternoon. We planned to visit a few pubs but didn't bother moving😊

Came in after cruising on the Llangollen canal all day, for a drink, glad I did because it was happy hour, result,,,

Called in there yesterday (first to get a can of coke and a free day parking ticket) then called back later for a bite to eat with the missus and stepson. I've got to say that it has to be one of the best burgers I've ever tasted - if you've seen my belly, I've eaten a lot of burgers in my lifetime - I'd recommend this pub to anyone. Well done to the staff there

Called in last night and was glad I did as there was live music, don't know if it's a regular thing or just a one off. Asked about staying in my van in the car part and was given a ticket till the next day 😃, great selection of beers and ciders and made to feel very welcome

Brilliant selection of beers and ciders. I go to the Ponsonby every week for the Food Assembly market and it's a lovely atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. A cosy welcoming pub!

A fantastic selection of real ale and ciders. Friendly staff, great sounds and an interesting menu.

The range and quality of beers, bang on! The landlord and staff great, deffo a pub for real ale and real people.

Great selection of real ales with also a cider and perry on handpump. Fine, great sounding Rock Ola jukebox playing some great blues on my visit.
