Pontblyddyn C. C. is one of, if not the, oldest cricket club in Wales with records dating back to the mid 1800’s. In a beautiful setting on the Hartsheath Estate, with rivers flowing on 3 sides of the ground it has been commented upon by many that it is one of the most picturesque grounds in Great Britain and possibly unique in so much as Sir Garfield Sobers on a visit stated that it was the only ground in the world where he had to cross a river bridge to reach the field of play.
