Definitely worth the trip if you are in the area, however, if you suffer from vertigo avoid like the plague! The walk across is narrow, and can be busy at peak periods meaning you have to negociate other tourists coming the opposite direction with a steep drop (with safety railings) on one side and water on the other. You may wish to book a narrow boat trip across instead.

Impressive feat of engineering, very popular with walkers & cyclists oh yes & boat owners too! The canal has no railing on the water side & barely looks wide enough to accommodate a boat! The path alongside is equally narrow but fortunately does have a fence to prevent you accidently falling into the abyss, but not the canal. We cycled/walked over but it's quite a squeeze when you meet someone else. If you suffer from vertigo, don't do it.... If you don't then do it!
Well worth a visit.

Great place to visit; all free unless you choose to enjoy a snack at the narrow boat cafe! Wonderful walks all around to take in the glorious views. A walk across the aquaduct is a must but perhaps not for the faint-hearted!

the walk over the bridge is stunning, and the views on either side are worth soaking in a little. there is also access to ty mawr country park down a staircase, from which you can really get an idea of the scale of this impressive and historic structure (completed in 1805).

Great place, full of canal history and spectacular views from the aquaduct (if you dare to walk over it!). Parking is free but limited spaces. The visitor centre is good, with friendly people and loads of information available, also drinks and snacks are available from a canal boat cafe. The nearby canal wharf at Trevor is also good.

Wonderful piece of engineering don't bother if you suffer from vertigo !!!

User

A facsinating experience, enjoy a walk by the canal or a boat trip high in the air. Not for the faint hearted though.

Had a bit of mixed weather, but the trip was excellent. Suitable for all ages.

Magnificent feat of engineering in this potcysylite Aqueduct, being the biggest of it's kind in Britain. But also with the added bonus of being in such a beautiful location
